On Saturday, February 16, the Jazz Masters Series of Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) will feature internationally known vibraphonist Christos Rafalides and his group, the Manhattan Vibes. Rafalides has appeared at such venues as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall and has been featured with numerous notable artists including Wynton Marsalis and Chaka Khan. In 2002, a Manhattan Vibes CD was named one of the year's top ten jazz recordings by Jazz Times.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic announces its 98th summer season at the Hollywood Bowl. The Hollywood Bowl summer season features world-class artists ranging from classical and pops to jazz, rock, and world music including the world premiere of two new LA Phil-commissioned works plus a fully-staged Broadway musical.

The Burlington Discover Jazz Festival announces the first round of headliners for the 36th annual event happening this May 31-June 9, 2019. St. Paul & The Broken Bones join forces with Tank & The Bangas on Thursday, June 6 at the Waterfront Tent. On Saturday, June 8, Toots & The Maytals welcome the return of reggae to the iconic Waterfront Tent events, with The Big Takeover and Sabayouma to open.

Today the multi-Grammy Award winning pianist, composer, arranger, and bandleader Eddie Palmieri released Mi Luz Mayor, his second salsa album of the year on his newly launched imprint Uprising Music (through Ropeadope). Recorded at the iconic Power Station at BerkleeNYC (formerly known as Avatar Studios), Mi Luz Mayor is a big band album 35+ of the best afro-cuban musicians in the mecca of salsa: New York City.

On December 7th the multi-Grammy Award winning pianist, composer, arranger, and bandleader Eddie Palmieri will release Mi Luz Mayor, his second salsa album of the year on his newly launched imprint Uprising Music (through Ropeadope). Today, Palmieri releases the album's third single 'Mi Congo,' featuring Carlos Santana. Guitar World called the the collaboration 'lively, intricately beautiful,' while NPR's Felix Contreras said the song will 'change the perception of what you think an [81] year old should sound like. This is proof positive that we only get better with age.'

Musicians, jazz enthusiasts, advocates, funders, and the arts and culture community are gathering at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and the University of the Arts for both high-level discussions and hands-on workshops about the art and business of jazz. Sessions will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. each day. Illuminated in vivid color against the clear night sky, the NJPAC campus became an Ozian destination for more than 900 guests, many of whom lingered outdoors to take in the scene on Chambers Plaza. The spaciousness of Prudential Lobby was enhanced by a dual-level tent that accommodated a dance floor, presided over by DJ Kiss, as well as a lounge for kicking back, networking or people-watching.
