The Kimmel Center Cultural Campus announces its eclectic 2019/20 Jazz Season, featuring powerhouse collaborations, critically-acclaimed musicians, and culturally diverse masters of the craft. Offerings include a fusion of classical compositions with innovative hip-hop sounds, Grammy Award-winning performers, plus versatile arrangements rooted in tradition. Throughout the season, the varied programming showcases the evolution of jazz - from the genre's legendary history in Philadelphia to the groundbreaking new artists who continue to pioneer music for future generations.

The same youth musicians from Caleb Chapman's Crescent Super Band who played to enthusiastic audiences in China earlier this month are presenting the same concert May 6 at the SCERA Center for the Arts.

Three-day Arena and Grounds Ticket Packages for the 62nd Annual Monterey Jazz Festival, September 27-29 go on sale Wednesday, May 1 at 8 a.m. PST and can be purchased online at montereyjazzfestival.org or by calling 888.248.6499. Single-day tickets go on sale May 10.

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents The Roots with A Christian McBride Situation on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 8:00 p.m.

The Celebrity Series of Boston announced its 2019-2020 season today, marking 81 years of bringing the world's greatest performing artists to Boston.

The Philly POPS and the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts will present the School District of Philadelphia's All-City Jazz Festival. The day of free jazz performances by student and professional musicians will be held in the Kimmel Center's Perelman Theater and Commonwealth Plaza on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from noon 9 p.m. This will be the POPS's fifth year presenting this event and the third year in partnership with the Kimmel Center.

The 2019 Newport Jazz Festival® presented by Natixis Investment Managers, set for August 2 - 4 at Fort Adams State Park and the International Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino, gets hipper and hotter as new artists are announced, and today's Wave 3 announcement is definitely hip and hot. 

Steeped in old-school swing, Latin jazz, funk and Ray Charlesian soul-blues, bristling with hotshot soloists, the Christian McBride Big Band has redefined the sound of big band music for the 21st Century.  Now, iconic jazz bassist, composer and arranger, Christian McBride, brings to The Soraya stage his 17-piece nsemble for one-night only on Friday, April 26 at 8pm. 

Following the immense artistic success of JAZZED! The Philly POPS BIG Band with Terell Stafford in January, The Philly POPS has designated Terell Stafford as the Artistic Director for Jazz for The Philly POPS.

Becoming known as one of Lambertville's leading, underground arts & cultural presenters, The Art of Sound is pleased to announce the return of Joanna Pascale, with her all-star ensemble on Thursday, April 18th, 7pm to perform for their ever-popular, yet best kept secret cultural series titled "The Art of Sound Unplugged.

BMS is located at 126 Saint Felix Street, Brooklyn. Concert tickets are a $10 suggested donation.

Plainfield native Alexis Morrast is a 17-year-old musical phenomenon who has impressed and enchanted audiences around the world. She appeared in front of a sold-out house last year at SOPAC. Now she's back, much to the delight of her fans. This rising Jazz star will take the stage on March 15 at 8 p.m.

The intimate, indoor Event Gallery at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts will host 1969 Woodstock festival alumnus (who performed with Paul Butterfield as part of the Butterfield Blues Band) and Grammy-award winner David Sanborn on November 7th at 8:00 p.m. Reserved seating tickets will go on-sale to the general public on Friday, February 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at www.BethelWoodsCenter.org  

On Today, February 16, the Jazz Masters Series of Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) will feature internationally known vibraphonist Christos Rafalides and his group, the Manhattan Vibes. Rafalides has appeared at such venues as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall and has been featured with numerous notable artists including Wynton Marsalis and Chaka Khan. In 2002, a Manhattan Vibes CD was named one of the year's top ten jazz recordings by Jazz Times.

Powerful pianists, singing storytellers, swinging big bands, a beat scientist and some of the baddest ensembles on the jazz scene make up the First Wave of artists announced today for the 65th edition of the Newport Jazz Festival presented by Natixis Investment Managers. Curated by Artistic Director Christian McBride, the Festival takes place August 2-4 at Fort Adams State Park and the International Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino.

Bassist/Composer Billy Mohler returns his Focus to jazz after a successful career in rock, pop and R&B production and songwriting. Mohler's leader debut Focus is due out this March via Make Records, featuring a stellar chordless quartet with Shane Endsleyand Nate Wood of Kneebody and Chris Speed of a MULTITUDE of ensembles.
