On December 7th the multi-Grammy Award winning pianist Eddie Palmieri will release Mi Luz Mayor, his second salsa album of the year on his newly launched imprint Uprising Music (through Ropeadope). Special guests on the album include Gilberto Santa Rosa, Herman Olivera, and Carlos Santana, who plays on the album's third track “Mi Congo.”

At 81 years old, the multi-Grammy Award winning pianist and music legend today releases his new album Full Circle. Featuring 8 classic salsa tracks recorded with stunning cast of musicians from New York and beyond, the album is his first album released on Palmieri's newly launched imprint Uprising Music via Ropeadope. The album release coincides with the release of the Palmieri Salsa Jams App, the world's first interactive Salsa music app on Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah's Stretch Music App platform.

The Apollo Theater today announced that it will bring to its iconic stage two new performances that continue its commitment to articulating and projecting the African American narrative through arts and culture.  In October 2018, The Apollo will celebrate the 50th anniversary of "Say It Loud - I'm Black and I'm Proud," the Godfather of Soul James Brown's seminal Black Power anthem, with the premiere of Say It Loud - I'm Black and I'm Proud at 50 under the musical direction of six-time GRAMMY®- Award-winner Christian McBride.  In May of 2019, in a co-production between The Apollo, Baltimore Center Stage, and Mosaic Theater, Kelvin Roston Jr. will pay homage to Donny Hathaway in the New York premiere of the one man play Twisted Melodies.  Tickets for both productions will go on sale July 1st.

Just in time to add some heat, industry acclaimed, Grammy Award-winning trumpeter/composer, Nabaté Isles is releasing his debut album, Eclectic Excursions this Summer. Building up to this 2018 release, Nabaté has performed, toured and/or recorded with almost every top musician in the industry such as Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def), Christian McBride, Kenny Lattimore, Philip Bailey, Fantasia, Jeffrey Osborne, Jill Scott, and Dianne Reeves, to list a few.
