Milwaukee Rep presents My Way, a musical tribute to Frank Sinatra in the Stackner Cabaret March 4 - May 1, 2022.

From spotlighting women in STEM and making their performances accessible to the disabled community, to experimenting with Zoom as a performance medium, the Electric Voice Theatre is continually interested in the unexpected and the inclusive. Their latest concert revolves around 18th century astronomer and 'Queen of the Sciences' Mary Somerville.

There’s something special about being the first audiences to see a new musical. For a musical theatre nerd like me, it is a thrill that is practically unmatched. And since I don’t live in New York City or thereabouts anymore, it is not something that happens that often. Which is why I was excited to be sitting in the audience for the first performance of an original musical, GORGEOUS, at the Renaissance Theatre Company. As Donald Rupe, Artistic Director and Co-founder of the Renaissance Theatre Company and creator (Book/Music/Lyrics) of GORGEOUS, shared during his curtain speech, the Ren aims to produce new and original theatre in Central Florida and beyond. And I am confident to say, as evidenced by this hilarious, irreverent and entertaining production, that mission is being lived out well by this not-even-a-year-old company, with a level of talent and passion that could hold its own with some of the most established theatres in the country.

RuPaul’s DragCon LA is sashaying back to the Los Angeles Convention Center for three full days on May 13-15, 2022, and today World of Wonder unveils the very first panel programming announcement for this year’s convention. Presented by RuPaul and World of Wonder Productions, RuPaul’s DragCon LA 2022 will be the 10th ever in-person convention, and is the world’s largest all-ages and family-friendly celebration of drag. 

Each of these newly announced panels will feature cast reunions from fan-favorite series across the globe such as RDR UK vs. The World S1, RDR UK S1 & S2, RDR Down Under S1, Drag Race Canada S1 & S2, and Drag Race Holland S1 & S2. These panels will feature discussions with some of the fiercest, most iconic queens from the franchise. 

George Street Playhouse welcomes back audiences to the Arthur Laurents Theater at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center with the captivating new production of Baipás by Jacobo Morales, directed by Julio Monge, running March 1st – March, 20th, 2022.

Interweaving both dance and music, DanceWorks presents Morphs, a mesmerizing work by Fila 13 Productions, led by multi-award winning choreographer Lina Cruz, and featuring five extraordinary Canadian dancers and a musical performer. Morphs will be presented live on stage March 30, and April 1, 2022 at 8pm at Fleck Dance Theatre. 

Two adjustments to the season schedule at Goodman Theatre shifts the 2021/2022 “Homecoming” Season line-up in the months ahead. The world-premiere production of Swing State by Rebecca Gilman directed by Robert Falls, previously announced for this spring, has been repositioned as this fall’s Owen Theatre opener.

HBO Max has acquired The Beauty of Blackness, a documentary film directed by Tiffany Johnson and Kiana Moore. The Beauty of Blackness chronicles Fashion Fair, the first cosmetics brand created exclusively for Black women created in 1973 by Eunice Johnson, the co-founder of Ebony and Jet Magazines.

As life approaches normalcy, ActorsNET continues its 25th season and brings a classic American melodrama with a big serving of comedy to the Heritage Center stage in March.

The University of Adelaide's Little Theatre will stage the Australian premiere of Tiny Beautiful Things by Nia Vardalos. Based on the best-selling book by Cheryl Strayed (Wild) and adapted for the stage by Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Tiny Beautiful Things personifies the questions and answers that “Sugar” published online between 2010-2012. The production opens on Thursday, March 10th at 7:30pm and plays until March 20th. Dates and showtimes are March 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th, and19th at 7:30pm. Matinées are to be held on Sundays, March 13th and March 20th at 4pm.

Casting has been announced for the world premiere of up-and-coming playwright Benjamin Benne's new work “Alma” coming to Los Angeles at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre March 6 through April 3, 2022. Directed by Juliette Carrillo, “Alma” opens March 13, 2022, and is produced in cooperation with American Blues Theater.

Each cabaret (populated with Broadway’s latest talents) will have different themes, with opening night Give My Regards to Broadway.
