Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine: A Benefit Concert for Viva Broadway took place last night, September 14th at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan. They returned to New York City to perform a special concert comprising their greatest hits including: 'Get On Your Feet,' 'Conga,' 'Rhythm is Gonna Get You,' 'Mi Tierra,' and more! They were even joined by the cast of Broadway-Bound ON YOUR FEET! and a special performance by Emily Estefan.

Imperial Theatre to Dim Its Lights After LES MISERABLES Tomorrow in Memory of Kyle Jean-Baptiste

The Broadway community mourns the loss of actor Kyle Jean-Baptiste, who passed away early Saturday morning at age 21. The marquee of Broadway's Imperial Theatre, 249 West 45th Street, will be dimmed in his memory on Tuesday, September 1st at approximately 10:15 pm following the evening performance of LES MISERABLES where he made history on July 23 when he became the first African American actor, and the youngest person ever, to play the lead role of Jean Valjean in the Broadway production of LES MISERABLES.

Broadway Community Urges League to Dim Lights in Honor of Kyle Jean-Baptiste

Earlier today, Broadway actor Kyle Jean-Baptiste tragically died from injuries suffered during an accident at his mother's home. Last month, Jean-Baptiste became both the youngest, and the first African American, actor to play the role of Jean Valjean on Broadway. News of his death spread across the internet quickly, with many members of the Broadway community paying tribute to this history-making performer. Quickly, 'Kyle Jean-Baptiste' became a trending topic on Twitter around the world.

The Tony Awards and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) have announced Corey Mitchell, Theater Arts Teacher at the Northwest School of the Arts in Charlotte, N.C., as the winner of the inaugural Excellence in Theatre Education Award.
