Add together a foggy night, dead body, clues that point in different directions, twists and turns, and what do you get? Agatha Christie's The Unexpected Guest. The Unexpected Guest opened in 1958 in the West End and was turned into a novel by Charles Osborne in 1999. Test out your detective skills at Little Theatre Mechanicsburg where The Unexpected Guest will take the stage April 26-May 12. I had the opportunity to take a sneak peak of the first act and to speak with two of the actors-Kaitlyn Booth, portraying Laura Warwick, and Nova Lorraine, playing Inspector Thomas.
SHAKE AND BAKE: LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST Concludes Limited Engagement January 6

Shake and Bake: Love's Labour's Lost, a production of Shakespeare's comedy that serves its audience an eight-course tasting menu as the play unfolds, will play its final performance on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Featuring direction by Dan Swern (The Eleventh Hour) and movement by Victoria Rae Sook (Grease), Shake and Bake: Love's Labour's Lost began performances on October 2, 2018 at a custom-built performance space at 94 Gansevoort Street (across from the Whitney Museum) and officially opened on October 13, 2018 for a limited run through January 6. At the time of its final performance, Shake and Bake: Love's Labour's Lost will have played 11 previews and 95 regular performances at 94 Gansevoort Street.

Thorton Wilder's Our Town tells the story of the everyday lives of the citizens of a fictional American small town of Grover's Corners through three acts: "Daily Life," "Love and Marriage," and "Death and Eternity." Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, this show is uniquely suited for our King Avenue sanctuary. You won't want to miss this telling of Our Town, during its 80th anniversary of its Broadway opening.
Performances run March 8, 9, 10 at 7:30 pm and March 11 at 3:00pm.
All performances are at King Avenue United Methodist Church, 299 King Ave., Columbus, OH. Childcare is available during the Friday evening and Sunday matinee performances. Admission is free, but a $10 donation is encouraged.

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) announced today the initial lineup for 2017 NYMF. Among the shows announced in the lineup are the Next Link Project musical selections, as well as invited production selections. Now in its fourteenth year, the 2017 Festival will take place July 10th through August 6th at locations around midtown Manhattan in New York City. Dan Markley serves as NYMF Executive Director & Producer and Rachel Sussman serves as Director of Programming & Artist Services.
