Centenary Stage Company to Present A CHRISTMAS CAROL: THE MUSICAL & More this December

This December, Centenary Stage Company will fill the stage with family favorite musicals and special guests performing the ever-popular Nutcracker ballet. From the reinvented holiday classic, A Christmas Carol, to a variety of shows presented by the dedicated Young Performers Workshop, CSC has holiday fun for everyone to enjoy.

In this free workshop, October 23rd at 7:00, Teaching Artists of the Centenary Stage Company will lead participants in a class to transform their face with the magic of theatrical makeup. During the 90 minute workshop participants will learn some of the basics of makeup application, with special regard to trauma simulation with applications into the world of vampires and zombies.

Saturday, October 26th at 8 pm will feature highlights from two legendary choreographers in A Balanchine/Robbins Evening and Sunday, October 27th at 2 pm, families can enjoy a favorite fairy tale brought to life in Cinderella.

Centenary Stage Company to Welcome New Trad Octet for Tribute to Sousa, 11/2

The month of November is starting off with a bang when Centenary Stage Company welcomes The New Trad Octet in a Tribute to Sousa Saturday, November 2nd at 8 p.m. at The Lackland Center. This unique band brings a brand new sound with exciting arrangements of the music of John Phillip Sousa, also known as 'The March King.' The band integrates the music of one of the most popular American musicians of the 20th century with the joyful rhythms of modern Haitian 'Kompa' and other Caribbean styles. This century-wide connection ties modern American Culture, with its many Caribbean influences, to a time when concerts in the town square were the social and cultural life for many Americans.

Spooktacular tickets are $20 for adults and $17.50 for children under 12 when purchased in advance. Post-show workshops are available for $18.50 for interested participants. All ticket orders for concerts and special events increase $5 when purchased on the day of the performance.

THE ENGLISH BRIDE to Make New York Premiere at 59E59 Theaters, 10/23-11/17

59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) welcomes Centenary Stage Company with the NYC premiere of THE ENGLISH BRIDE, written by Lucile Lichtblau and directed by Carl Wallnau. THE ENGLISH BRIDE begins performances on Wednesday, October 23 for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 17. Press opening is Wednesday, October 30 at 7:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday at 8:30 PM; and Saturday at 2:30 PM & 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM & 7:30 PM. It's been called one of the best and most beloved musicals of all time, the award-winning West Side Story now comes to the Centenary Stage. This timeless musical launched Stephen Sondheim's Broadway career and with help of other creative geniuses like Jerome Robbins and Leonard Bernstein, it has become a classic in the American theatrical repertoire. The New Jersey Youth Theatre will be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of their award-winning production by bringing a new group of talented young-adult actors that Director Cynthia Meryl calls 'the future of Broadway' to the Lackland Center to showcase the phenomenal training that NJYT provides. Performances will take place August 2nd - 11th at the Sitnik Theatre in the David and Carol Lackland Center at 715 Grand Avenue in Hackettstown.

Paragon Ragtime Orchestra Premieres Long-Lost Gershwin Piece at Centenary Stage Tonight

Along with the discovery of 5,000 historic theater scores, buried in an attic in Washington, D.C., Founder and Artistic Director of The Paragon Ragtime Orchestra Rick Benjamin was stunned when he came upon George Gershwin's long-lost Broadway score for La La Lucile, which hasn't been performed since 1919. The piece will make its premiere in Hackettstown this month at the Centenary Stage Company's Jammin' in July Summer Concert Series.
