The title character's nickname of Lady Day, otherwise known as Billie Holiday, takes the audience on her life journey. While the origin story of her nickname is different, it brings to light a ton of trauma that women of color during her lifetime experienced. Played by the brilliant Dequina Moore, Moore brings Billie Holliday to life most playfully and tragically. As Moore dances, grooves, and moves about the stage, we see the character sip slowly into a stupor. In the beginning, we experience a bright and bubbly personality, and then the slow descent into a drunken stupor prevails, leaving the audience in an emotional daze. Moore provides a beautiful slow burn embodying Billie Holliday in her own uniquely passionate way.

He is an educator who has taught both at the high school and collegiate levels. He is a graduate of Bradley University in Peoria Illinois and majored in Theater Performance. Andrew made the decision to return to St. Louis following graduation to pursue his career in the arts and spend time with his aging grandmother, putting family before his career. It is to the benefit of the vibrant St. Louis theater scene that Andrew lends his talents to help stage the Broadway caliber productions at STAGES St. Louis.
She Loves You will have its world premiere in March 2022 at the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, starring Danish singer and actress Maria Lucia (The Beauty and the Beast, The Sound of Music on stage and the Danish film dubbing of Disney's Frozen) leading a cast of 24 musical performers.
