Drama Desk Award Winner for Off-Broadway show 'The Lion' performs works from a forthcoming record this 20 October 2021 at The Phoenix Arts Club. Scheuer is the recipient of the 2021 Kleban Award for Lyrics. He is running monthly 'songwriter sessions' featuring esteemed special guest songwriters at Crazy Coqs, Piccadilly.  

Last spring, Acosta Danza's tour of the UK was cut short by the pandemic. In spring 2022, Dance Consortium welcomes the Havana-based company back with an exhilarating new mixed bill.

Acosta Danza, the company set up by international ballet star Carlos Acosta, returns with a new programme, 100% Cuban, following the cancellation of its tour in spring 2020.  NDT 2, the second company of Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), is back in the UK for the first time since 2016 with a triple bill by German, Dutch and Swedish choreographers.

Jim succeeds Dan Howard who steps down to concentrate on a new, full-time role in the education sector. Dan will continue his association with the School, as a Governor of the Board.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts announced it plans to resume live indoor performances beginning in October with an eclectic array of entertaining and groundbreaking programming for the first half of its 2021/2022 Season that encompasses produced and presented works in dance, theater, music, and cinema.

Sadler's Wells has announced a further three productions for autumn 2021, including a new production from Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, an off-site presentation from Charlotte Spencer in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and a triple bill from Birmingham Royal Ballet featuring Carlos Acosta and Alessandra Ferri.

Norwich Theatre and its co-producing partner Valid Productions have announced that they will re-mount and tour On Before, an intensely personal evening of dance conceived, directed and performed by legendary Cuban dancer, Carlos Acosta CBE, as UK venues re-open in July and August 2021. At a gala lunch held today attended by hundreds of ballet lovers, David McAllister AM, the immediate past Artistic Director of The Australian Ballet, was surprised when the event took a turn and became “David McAllister This Is Your Life”.  The lunch entitled “Celebrating David McAllister AM with a little help from his Friends” was a joyous occasion with many surprise guests.

Elmhurst Ballet School, the vocational school with close links to Birmingham Royal Ballet, and its uniform supplier Dancing Boutique are working together to send over 200 items of dancewear to two ballet schools and charities based over 6,000 miles apart.

Following the live and on demand stream of The Nutcracker at The REP, Birmingham Royal Ballet continues to find creative ways of keeping audiences entertained with the release of Carlos Acosta's first major digital commission for the Company: Empty Stage.

Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Nutcracker at The REP will be streamed live from The Birmingham Repertory Theatre this evening, Friday 18th December, from 7.30pm. This magical Christmas production will then be available to view as a video-on-demand recording from Saturday 19th to Thursday 24th December.

Following news of Birmingham's Tier 3 status last week, and ongoing uncertainty about what will be possible post 16 December, Birmingham Royal Ballet has taken the difficult decision to move their 2020 adapted version of The Nutcracker online.

San Diego Opera has announced the continuation of its 2020-2021 season with a drive-in filmed encore presentation of the 2018 SDO production of All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 7 PM at the Del Mar Fairgrounds parking lot (2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd.). Prior to the screening of the film will be a live concert of holiday favorites starring members of the San Diego Opera Chorus including a singalong that patrons can enjoy from the comfort and safety of their own car.

Last night Birmingham Hippodrome hosted a preview evening for the UK premiere of Van Gogh Alive. Created by Grande Exhibitions, Van Gogh Alive is a digital art experience using stunning projections, classical music and scent gives you the unique opportunity to step on to the Hippodrome’s main stage and truly venture into Van Gogh’s world.

Today Sadler's Wells has announced a special new season of live dance and digital content for Autumn 2020, including further performances for socially distanced audiences at Sadler's Wells Theatre and new details for online programme, Digital Stage In Focus.
