Thomas “Fats” Waller, a pioneer in jazz piano, was a prolific composer, writing over 400 songs in his lifetime, with hits like “Ain’t Misbehavin’” and “Honeysuckle Rose” even making it into the Grammy Hall of Fame. So, it is no surprise that in 1978 a Broadway Musical, AIN’T MISBEHAVIN’ premiered featuring dozens of Waller’s songs and a cast of five African American actors, including a young Andre de Shields (HADESTOWN) and the late, great Nell Carter who won a Tony Award for her performance. Since its premiere, AIN’T MISBEHAVIN’ has lived on, thrilling audiences all around the world including the latest production at the Titusville Playhouse in Titusville, FL – an energetic and electric production that sizzles from beginning to end.

SMPL MCHN a?" an experimental theater company a?" will present the world premiere play, IN THE JUNGLE OF CITIES, by BERTOLT BRECHT, as adapted and directed by ISAAC BUSH, at the immersive and site specific location of M. Fine Lumber (200 Morgan Ave.) in Williamsburg-Brooklyn, October 10 - 20, 2019. Previews begin Thursday, October 10 prior to a press opening night on Saturday, October 12. A SOULFUL CHRISTMAS cast member Burgandy Williams will perform at The 2018 Emery Awards this evening - Wednesday, November 7, 2018 - at Cipriani Wall Street (55 Wall Street, NYC). Ms. Williams was a performer at last year's ceremony, singing Aretha Franklin's "Rock Steady."  She returns this year with another Queen of Soul classic - "Respect." The event will be hosted by Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (NBC's "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert"), and also features a performance from singer We McDonald (2017 finalist on NBC's "The Voice").

Following a sold-out engagement last fall Off-Broadway, the new musical TRINKETS returns by popular demand to the stage this month with performances January 11-February 3 at the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond St.) in Manhattan.
