There are a handful of musicals that I firmly believe every self-proclaimed theatre lover needs to see, if for no other reason, to say they've seen it. Among the ranks are LES MISERABLES, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, WEST SIDE STORY, I think it's now pretty safe to add WICKED to the list, and MISS SAIGON. They're classics, if you will. New Orleans is lucky enough to have two of these as part of the 2019-2020 Broadway Across America season, and gracing us this coming week is none other than MISS SAIGON.

Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM), in partnership with Broadway Across America (BAA),  has announced the full lineup of Broadway shows coming to Dallas in the 2020-2021 season. The eight-show lineup features fan-favorites, fresh adaptations, and seven Tony Award® winners including 2019's Best Musical, HADESTOWN. Season tickets will go on sale at 12 p.m. on Friday, January 17.

Ron Legler, President of the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center, home of the Hippodrome Theatre, has announced the lineup for the new 2020-21 CareFirst® BlueCross BlueShield Hippodrome Broadway Series.

The Broadway League is pleased to announce that Lauren Reid, Chief Operating Officer, the John Gore Organization, was recently voted Chair Elect of the Board of the Broadway League. Ms. Reid will take over the role of Chair of the Broadway League from Thomas Schumacher, President & Producer of Disney Theatrical Productions, following the completion of Mr. Schumacher's full three-year term at the end of 2020.

a??a??a??a??a??a??a??CATS opened at the Citizen's Bank Opera House Tuesday night. Directed by Trevor Nunn the current Broadway tour of CATS, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler based on the original Choreography by Gillian Lynne, is terrific. The pacing is perfect, and the acting, singing, and dancing is tight, polished, and outstanding. Mr. Nunn has deftly woven this cast into to a strong cohesive production and the onstage chemistry is a reward for the audience. The original Broadway production opened in 1982, based on 'Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats' by T.S. Elliot with Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and was the longest running Broadway show in history until it was dethroned by The Phantom of the Opera, also composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Casting for Disney's The Lion King has been announced for the long-awaited return engagement in Milwaukee. The Lion King will leap onto the Marcus Center stage on February 5 for a four-week engagement through March 1 as part of the Johnson Financial Group Broadway at the Marcus Center and Broadway Across America-Milwaukee series.

A host of Broadway and recording artists will join composer Jeff Thomson in concert on Sunday, January 19th at 7:00pm PM at The Duplex (61 Christopher Street).

As the foremost presenter of first-class touring Broadway productions throughout North America, Broadway Across America (BAA), announced today that is has entered into new partnerships with both Broadway Grand Rapids and Michigan State University's Wharton Center for Performing Arts. The producers of the RENT 20th Anniversary Tour announced today that single tickets for the upcoming tour engagement in Dallas, presented by Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) and Broadway Across America (BAA), will go on sale Friday, December 13.

Described by the Los Angeles Times as a 'cultural phenomenon,' Dear Evan Hansen comes to Dallas' Music Hall at Fair Park from November 26 - December 8, presented by Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) and Broadway Across America (BAA). In advance of the start of performances, the production announced that it will host a digital ticket lottery offering fans the chance to purchase a limited number of $25 tickets available per performance.

Veteran Broadway marketer Betsy Dollinger has signed an exclusive consulting contract with Alchemation, a theatrical and media producing company founded by Kevin McCollum, that is committed to the development and presentation of new works.   Betsy will oversee marketing efforts and manage strategic partnerships for Alchemation's slate of current and upcoming shows which includes the The Play That Goes Wrong on tour and off Broadway, Six, Mrs. Doubtfire, The Devil Wears Prada, and The Notebook.
