DR. SEUSS’ HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS THE MUSICAL played to a delighted Atlanta audience for ten performances at the Fox Theatre earlier this month as part of the Broadway in Atlanta's 40th Anniversary Season. The New York Times describes the show as “100 times better than any bedtime story,” and has been enchanting adults and children alike. “We’re greatly optimistic about the return of Broadway to the city of Atlanta and thrilled to share the news that shows previously announced for the 40th Anniversary season will remain available to patrons under a revised schedule,” said Vice President of Broadway in Atlanta Russ Belin. Former NBA sharpshooter JJ Redick and music legends Dave Koz and David Foster as well as a Motown icon double bill of The Temptations and The Four Tops are just part of the magic this December at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Broadway hits The Prom, Elf The Musical and Kinky Boots join the slate of spectacles and international hits featuring STOMP, Champions of Magic, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, and Cirque Dreams Holidaze. 

The Kansas City Broadway Series has announced the three-week engagement of the Broadway musical sensation, WICKED. The national tour of WICKED will take the Music Hall stage from January 5–23, 2022.

My advice for TOOTSIE THE MUSICAL is to distance yourself from the original film, and accept they are taking a dated concept and transposing it awkwardly onto today.  You are going for the exquisite comedy performances that surpass the fact that TOOTSIE has not very much to say about gender that seems substantial.

Reprising their roles from the 2019-2020 season are Danielle Wade as Cady Heron, Megan Masako Haley as Gretchen Wieners, Jonalyn Saxer as Karen Smith, Mary Kate Morrissey as Janis Sarkisian, Eric Huffman as Damian Hubbard, Adante Carter as Aaron Samuels, Kabir Bery as Kevin G. and Lawrence E. Street as Mr. Duvall.

Broadway Across America is coming back to life, and it’s ready to hit Indy with the fun and fantastical CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. Mike Lloyd, Executive Director of Broadway Grand Rapids will retire December 31, 2021. He will have served exactly 12 years. She is a delightful and charismatic woman who brings an obvious enthusiasm to her role.
