The BAMkids Film Festival, now in its 22nd year, returns to BAM Rose Cinemas on February 1 & 2, 2020. This year's impressive lineup, tailored for children ages 3a?"11, showcases 87 films from 30 countries in ten languages. This year's festival includes short film programs curated by the Northwest Film Forum, Melbourne International Animation Festival, Cinekid, and Eye International, featuring animated animals, adventures, and magical journeys from around the world for children ages 5a?"9, shorts programs for children 8+ and 9+, and two shorts programs specifically for children ages 3a?"6.

Articulate Theatre Company's production of Doctor Frankenstein gears up for a limited run starting November 8. Articulate is thrilled to have George Allison's new play, 'Doctor Frankenstein,' inaugurate their residency as part of the historic West End Theatre's Consortium located on the second floor of the historic Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew (263 W 86th St, New York City). 'The stunning architecture is a perfect location for Doctor Frankenstein,' says Brittney Venable, Articulate's managing director.

The award-winning theatre company The Anthropologists will bring their critically acclaimed play Artemisia's Intent to Jersey City's Art House Productions this October. Winner of Best Solo Drama (2018 FRIGID Festival), Artemisia's Intent delivers a tour-de-force performance to unearth the life, work and words of 17th century painter Artemisia Gentileschi. The show will launch its Fall 2019 regional tour at Art House Productions (262 17th Street Jersey City, NJ 07310) on Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19 at 8PM. The award winning theatre company The Anthropologists (NYC) will tour their critically acclaimed play Artemisia's Intent to Massachusetts and New Jersey this October. Winner of Best Solo Drama (2018 FRIGID Festival), Artemisia's Intent delivers a tour-de-force performance to unearth the life, work and words of 17th century painter Artemisia Gentileschi. Performances will kick off at Art House Productions in Jersey City on October 18-19, followed by a one night only engagement at the historic Cape May Stage on October 21. From there, the show travels to Massachusetts to the brand new Peabody Black Box on October 25. Tickets for all performances are $25.

String Around My Finger, Brenda Withers' tragicomedy at Dreamcatcher Rep, offers a beautifully effecting slice of life.

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional theatre in residence at Oakes Center in Summit, is producing the NJ Premiere of String Around My Finger by Brenda Withers. This quiet comedy unfolds in a hospital the day after a couple experiences a miscarriage. Now they must decide what to cling to, and what to release. String Around My Finger runs April 25 through May 12, 2019.

Award-winning Artemisia's Intent makes its Rhode Island debut this July, bringing to life the work of Italian painter Artemisia Gentileschi at the 5th Annual Providence Fringe Festival. FRINGEPVD brings independent performers from around the world to Providence to share original work from artists on the 'fringe.'  Performances will take place on July 31 (8:30PM) andAugust 1 (7PM) at the Wilbury Theatre Group (40 Sonoma Ct, Providence, RI). Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional theatre in residence at Oakes Center in Summit, is producing the World Premiere of What Stays by Laura Ekstrand and Jason Szamreta. This heartwarming comedy, written by two members of Dreamcatcher's ensemble, was inspired by stories from the company's own lives and woven to reflect the common experience of a family going through a major life change. What Stays runs February 8 - 25, 2018.

The Anthropologists' This Sinking Island, directed by Artistic Director Melissa Moschitto, celebrates the courage of refugee communities impacted by climate change.
