Over the last few years it has become almost as popular as the film with touring companies in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Sweden as well as in the US'. This was my opening quote when the tour bowed at the Pantages in 2012. Now onstage at the small Celebration Theatre in Hollywood, the show is much scaled down but with an incredible cast of 11, under the amazing direction of Jessica Hanna, it is more bright and alive than ever. VINO VERITAS by David MacGregor debuted in Michigan in 2008 and won the state's Purple Rose for Best New Play. The current Theatre 40 production is being presented as the second show of its 2017-2018 season, arriving as a perfect comedy for the Halloween season. Taking its title from a Latin proverb, which literally translates as 'in wine, the truth, the skin of the blue dart tree frog wine consumed on Halloween night by two middle-aged couples as they prepare to attend a friend's annual party causes them to share an unpredictable and hilarious night of unbridled honesty that stretches the bounds of their friendship and their relationships forever.

The company and creative team behind the critically acclaimed Punch and Judy and The Faggot King or The Troublesome Reign and Lamentable Death of Edward the Second have announced The Final Girl, an original 80s slasher-horror play guaranteed to heighten the enjoyment of the Halloween season. Written and directed by Christopher Johnson, The Final Girl will play two preview performances on October 7 at 8pm and October 8 at 7pm. Opening is set for Friday, October 13, at 8pm at the McCadden Place Theatre in Hollywood. The limited engagement will run through Saturday, November 4 only.

Samovar Subway Ensemble's Hollywood Fringe Festival production of Thanksgiving, a world premiere comedy by Tiffany Cascio, is the winner of three Fringe Awards (out of five nominations) and also received Pick of the Fringe designation from Combined Artform and Fringe Management. The acclaimed comedy will play four Encore! Producers' Award performances on Friday, July 14 at 8pm; Sunday, July 16 at 2pm; Saturday, July 22 at 2pm; and Sunday, July 23 at 2pm. Running time is 90 minutes.

The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle is proud to announce a new special award to be presented at its upcoming awards ceremony on March 20: The Gordon Davidson Award for distinguished contribution to the Los Angeles theatrical community. The award is sponsored by the Center Theatre Group, where Gordon Davidson served as the founding Artistic Director from 1967 to 2005, and will be presented this year to Pro99.

A guest production of Larry Kramer's acclaimed play The Normal Heart has been announced for a limited four-week run at the Chromolume Theatre at the Attic. Directed by Marilyn McIntyre, opening is set for Today, February 24 at 8pm and the engagement will conclude on Sunday, March 19.
