Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, has announced the first show of Chance's 2026 Season, Once, has been extended through March 2, 2026.

Once feels like a revelation, with all the delicate tenderness of a romantic ballad and the foot-stomping joy of a rustic Irish pub on music night.

​​​​​​​Chance Theater, Anaheim’s official resident theatre company, will open its 2026 season with Once, winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical. The production features a book by Enda Walsh, music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová.

Bursting with powerful, beautifully-rendered musical performances and emotionally-stirring characterizations from a terrific ensemble cast, Chance Theater's incredible-sounding, fiercely-acted, deeply searing new production of SPRING AWAKENING is, according to this critic, one of the best, most satisfying productions of this musical I have seen in a while. With characters you care for and a stunning score that stays with you, the show remains a favorite. And, most of all, the show still f**king rocks.

Chance Theater will bring the revolutionary Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening to Orange County for the first time this summer, running July 11 through August 10, 2025, on the Cripe Stage at the Bette Aitken Theater Arts Center. Directed by Associate Artistic Director Jocelyn A. Brown, the production also features music direction by Robyn Manion and choreography by Mo Goodfellow.

For the 3rd Annual OCTG Theatre Awards—held at the Samueli Theatre in Costa Mesa on May 13, 2024—lauded productions of RIDE THE CYCLONE, A GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER, CLYBOURNE PARK, YELLOW FACE, AND THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME earned the most wins.

The OCTG Theatre Awards unveils its list of nominees, including productions of 'Ride the Cyclone,' 'A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder,' 'Clybourne Park,' 'Yellow Face,' and 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.'

Featuring a humorous yet surprisingly poignant original story from John Cameron Mitchell and piercing, high-octane tunes from composer Stephen Trask, the gloriously ribald glam-rock musical HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH is currently flipping its wigs out in a brand new extremely engaging production at the Chance Theater continuing thru February 25.

Now having its California premiere at OC's Chance Theater in Anaheim through February 26, RIDE THE CYCLONE is a must-see, wonderfully odd, yet endearingly touching musical comedy that feels like a thoughtfully bonkers hybrid of The Breakfast Club and It's A Wonderful Life, with room for a dollop of Tim Burton-esque quirkiness.

Chance Theater will present the California Premiere of “Ride the Cyclone.” This musical will preview from January 27 through February 3, and regular performances will begin February 4th and continue through February 26.

Nominees for the inaugural OC Theatre Awards were announced on Saturday, January 22, 2022 during OC Theatre Guild’s annual membership meeting. The awards ceremony has been scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the outdoor amphitheater of the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton.

A deeply complex father-daughter dynamic is the central narrative that drives the searingly poignant and emotionally absorbing musical FUN HOME, the Tony Award-winning stage adaptation of Alison Bechdel's 2006 autobiographical graphic memoir now appearing in an admirable new intimate theater production at Anaheim's Chance Theater through March 1, 2020. Under the thoughtful and attentive direction of Marya Mazo, the production's smaller footprint automatically enhances the musical's rich, engrossing story and its lovely musical score.

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is announcing that four performances have been added to the regional premiere of Kim Rosenstock's comedy, Tigers Be Still. Originally scheduled to close on June 2nd, the show will now run through June 9th on the Fyda-Mar Stage at the Bette Aitken theater arts Center.
