Tony nominee Cristin Milioti has joined the cast of HBO Max's upcoming The Batman spinoff series, The Penguin. Milioti will star as the female lead in the series, opposite Colin Farrell. She will play Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Carmine Falcone. The character will fight against The Penguin to control the city of Gotham.

City Lit Theater’s 42nd season will begin in October with the world premiere of THE MARK OF KANE, by Chicago playwright/actor Mark Pracht, directed by City Lit Artistic Director Terry McCabe. THE MARK OF KANE will begin performances on October 21 and will play through December 4, 2022.

To honor Batman Day 2022, the Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center and the State Theater of Johnstown have joined forces to present two live theatrical performances celebrating Gotham’s Dark Knight on September 17 starting at 7:00 PM and September 18 starting at 1:00 PM at Downtown Johnstown’s historic State Theater (336 Main St. Johnstown, PA 15901).

City Lit Theater announced its lineup for the 2022-23 season. The season will begin in October with the world premiere of THE MARK OF KANE, by Mark Pracht, and conclude in late spring with the world premiere of Kingsley Day and Philip LaZebnik’s musical AZTEC HUMAN SACRIFICE.

Season three of the series begins after five years: the civil war is over, and a revolution has changed the world for better or worse – ushering in a new age of Super Heroes and Supervillains. HBO Max has given a straight-to-series order to THE PENGUIN (working title), a limited series starring Colin Farrell in the title role. The DC drama expands upon the world filmmaker Matt Reeves has created for Warner Bros. Pictures’ global blockbuster “The Batman” and centers on the character played by Farrell in the film.

Starring alongside Robert Pattinson (“Tenet,” “The Lighthouse”) as Gotham’s famous and infamous cast of characters are Zoë Kravitz (“Big Little Lies,” “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”); Paul Dano (“Love & Mercy,” “12 Years a Slave”); and Colin Farrell (“The Gentlemen,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”) as the Penguin.

HBO Max announced today at DC FanDome that season three of the hit DC series PENNYWORTH, from Warner Bros. Television, will debut in 2022 as a Max Original.

Premium cable network EPIX® announced today that Pennyworth, its critically acclaimed DC drama from Warner Horizon Scripted Television, has started production on season two.  Season two introduces new series regulars James Purefoy (The Following, Sex Education, Altered Carbon), Edward Hogg (Taboo, Harlots, White Lightning), Jessye Romeo (Curfew, In the Long Run), Ramon Tikaram (Brassic, The Victim) and Harriet Slater (Faunutland and the Lost Magic).  The 10-episode sophomore season began production in the UK in January 2020 – filming once again at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden – with an eye towards a summer 2020 premiere on EPIX.
