CINDERELLA is the only Rodgers and Hammerstein musical that was originally written for television. Its first performance was broadcast live on CBS on March 31, 1957 as a vehicle for Julie Andrews, who played the title role. It was subsequently remade for television twice. The 1965 version starred Lesley Ann Warren, and the 1997 one starred Brandy Norwood. (more...)

The new screwball comedy Living on Love, is the season's first post-Tony nomination closing announcement after receiving no nominations this morning. The show  will play its final performance on Broadway this Sunday, May 3, 2015 after 21 previews and 16 regular performances at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street, NYC). Living on Love is written by two-time Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro, based on the play Peccadillo by Garson Kanin and directed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall.  (more...)
