On Wednesday evening, the biggest names in sports and entertainment descended on the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles to celebrate the year's best moments in sports at The 2019 ESPYS Presented by Capital One. The show was hosted by comedian Tracy Morgan and aired live on ABC.  Morgan's opening monologue kicked off the night on a high note – the diehard sports fan brought the laughs while discussing his recent sports car dust up and ribbed former New York Giant Odell Beckham Jr. on his departure for the Cleveland Browns.

The Abingdon Theatre Company (Chad Austin, Artistic Director) in association with Jim Kierstead, will present a reading of Leaving Brooklyn, a new play by Jeff Mandels on Tuesday, July 16th at 3pm at The Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street). This Wednesday, the world's best athletes and biggest stars will join host Tracy Morgan for The 2019 ESPYS presented by Capital One. The star-studded evening celebrates the best moments from the year in sports and will air live on ABC July 10 from 8 p.m. ET - 11 p.m. ET from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The plot is definitely about to thicken, as Stage West presents the regional premiere of Jeffrey Hatcher's Holmes and Watson, in a 5-week regional premiere run at Stage West beginning Thursday, May 30.

ELEGIES FOR ANGELS, PUNKS AND RAGING QUEENS opens at the Union Theatre tonight and runs until Saturday 8th June. The production is being produced in support of the Make A Difference Trust (MAD Trust) to help raise funds in the fight against HIV and AIDS.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) presents How to Write a Musical That Works, part 1: The World and The Want, the first workshop in a 3-part series. One of the programs in TRU Beginnings: Opportunities for Early Development of New Work, it will take placeon Sunday, December 9, 2018.

If you have never seen SIDE SHOW, you need to make sure that you get out to the PNC Arts Annex this weekend to see this show.  If you are a lover of musical theatre, this is one not to be missed.

Dundalk Community Theatre begins its 2019 season with Bill Russell's 1998 Tony Award Nominated Musical "Side Show", from November 9th - 18th. The show brings to life the world of Daisy and Violet Hilton, conjoined twins, who became famous stage performers in the 1930s. Individual tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for senior adults and $17 for students/DCT Actors/Children 12 and under.

The Desert Rose Playhouse, the Coachella Valley's LGBTQIA theatre, has a winner in THE SUGAR WITCH, one of its first productions since Robbie Wayne became producing artistic director and Kam Sisco managing director.
