Birdland Theater is proud to announce that Broadway leading ladies Jenn Colella and Chilina Kennedy will perform a song cycle written and composed by Ms. Kennedy on Monday, September 10 at 8:30pm. This one-night-only event will be presented by Eclipse Theater Company.
On Monday evening, March 5, at 7 p.m. with every seat in Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater occupied, more than 425 singers in the Young People's Chorus of New York City opened the celebration of their storied 30-year history by singing 'Why We Tell the Story' written by Broadway's powerhouse songwriting team Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, among the evening's special guests, who also helped host. Under the leadership of YPC Artistic Director Francisco J. Nuñez and Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Nuñez, YPC was also joined by renowned baritone Lester Lynch as well as Broadway's Jenn Colella from 'Come From Away' and Jordan Donica, soon to be featured in 'My Fair Lady.'

On Tuesday, December 5th, Broadway Backstory podcast released their episode about the making of COME FROM AWAY. COME FROM AWAY is the hit 2017 musical by Irene Sankoff and David Hine that tells the true story of what happened when 7,000 stranger were stranded in Gander, New Foundland in the wake of the September 11, 2011 attacks. Broadway Backstory, a documentary-style podcast that finds out how a show develops from an idea to a full production, charts the show's journey from a college workshop to it's out of town tryouts, to a concert event in Gander, and ultimately to Broadway.
Last night at Broadway's COME FROM AWAY, American Airlines reunited the six American Airlines, TWA and US Airways crews who were diverted to Gander, Newfoundland on 9/11 and experienced the true stories brought to life in the musical, including Captain Beverley Bass (the first female Captain at American, who is depicted in the show), pilots and crews of these flights and AA's CEO & Chairman Doug Parker as well as the AA Vice Presidents of Flight Service and Flight.
