Broadway's top musical artists are set to appear on NBC's Tuesday, June 21 telecast of 'Maya & Marty' to perform 'What the World Needs Now Is Love,' an updated version of the classic Burt Bacharach/Hal David song that is helping to support the devastated LGBT community of Orlando, Fla.

On Monday, June 20th, the Theater People Podcast welcomes Tony Award-winner Alice Ripley. For the episode, Ripley discusses her work in the recent AMERICAN PSYCHO, why this was the right role to bring her back to Broadway after a nearly five year-break, and why she thinks the show struggled to find an audience.

? Theatre Aspen announced casting for the organization's upcoming season of summer shows, which includes MAMMA MIA!, Buyer & Cellar and Dear Edwina.

This year, the group honored Jenna Segal (celebrated film, television and Broadway producer), Martha Plimpton (Emmy Award winning actress & activist), and Trudie Styler (actress, producer, environmentalist and UNICEF ambassador) at the event, which was hosted by Lisa Lampanelli.

In anticipation of Pride Week, Thank You For Coming Out (TYFCO) is teaming up with Fun Home to hold an improv workshop benefiting the organizations I'm From Driftwood and How We G.L.O.W. Each of the four groups amplify the LGBTQ voice in a different way and aim to promote an understanding among communities. This workshop will encourage empathy, inclusivity and acceptance within the LGBTQ community by using and teaching the ideals of improv - listening, trust, respect, affirmation and connection with each other through the principle of Yes, And. TYFCO and Fun Home's main goal is that both I'm From Driftwood and How We G.L.O.W. can take what they learned back to their organizations and continue to inspire others.

Himself and Nora, a new musical with book, music, and lyrics by Jonathan Brielleis currently in previews at the Minetta Lane Theatre. Directed by Michael Bush, produced by Cherie King and executive produced by R. Erin Craig, Himself and Nora officially opened last night, June 6th. On Monday, June 6, the Theater People podcast welcomes Tony nominee Jennifer Damiano. She made her Broadway debut at the age of 15 in the groundbreaking and Tony Award-winning musical SPRING AWAKENING. She went on to originate the role of Natalie in the Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt musical NEXT TO NORMAL, for which she earned a Tony Award nomination.
