The global celebration of performing arts, Edinburgh International Festival, today unveils an expansive programme of world-class music, opera, dance and theatre to take place from 4 – 27 August 2023. This year marks the first Festival under the direction of new Festival Director, Nicola Benedetti, one of today's most influential classical music artists.  

Opening on April 14th, this production has musical direction by Claudio Cruz, who commands the Orquestra do Theatro Sao Pedro and scenic direction by Jorge Takla. The recital on April 28, Friday, will be broadcast for free on the YouTube channel of Theatro Sao Pedro.

Merola Opera Program will continue its 2023 season with a fully staged production of Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia, approached through a current lens.

The little OPERA theatre of ny (LOTNY) will present American One Acts, a double bill, conducted by Gregory Hopkins and directed by Philip Shneidman, from May 31 - June 4, 2023 at Baruch Performing Arts Center.

In this special and one-off event led by the BBC Proms, author of Atonement and one of the finest writers of his generation, Ian McEwan collaborates with the BBC symphony Orchestra and reads extracts from his own works with music curated around his readings and a special guest appearance from jazz singer Emma Smith.

On Friday, March 31st, BBC Symphony Orchestra and Ian McEwan held a concert conducted by Adam Hickox at the Barbican Hall. The concert will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on Sunday 14 May with a cut-down on BBC Radio 4 on Saturday 8 April. Check out photos here!

Factory International has announced the 2023 edition of Manchester International Festival (MIF) from 29 June to 16 July.
