Performances Begin This Sunday for Red Bull Theater's THE ALCHEMIST

RED BULL THEATER will begin performances Sunday for the World Premiere of a brand new adaptation of Ben Jonson’s classic comedy, The Alchemist, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher and directed by Jesse Berger, the team that created the hit comedy The Government Inspector.

Today, Red Bull Theater announced that Laila Robins will join the cast of the first public presentation of a new dramatization of Ben Jonson’s Sejanus, His Fall, adapted and directed by Nathan Winkelstein, Red Bull’s Associate Artistic Director. Ms Robins replaces the previously announced Kate Burton, who withdrew due to a scheduling conflict.

Beginning today, six brand new plays, inspired by this year's theme: 'Private Lives,' will be selected through an open submission process to premiere alongside commissions from Jeremy O. Harris (Slave Play, Daddy) and Theresa Rebeck (Bernhardt/Hamlet, Seminar). Submissions are open through March 30th, 2020.

American Shakespeare Center Has Announced Principal Casting For Marquee Repertory Season

American Shakespeare Center launches the 2020 Marquee Repertory season this summer navigating the waters of Venice, the glittering locale of Shakespeare's Othello and The Merchant of Venice and Ben Jonson's Volpone.
