CAPE FEAR REGIONAL THEATRE is bringing the deliciously southern play 'THE CAKE' to it's stage April 4-21. Written by Bekah Brunstetter, Supervising Producer of NBC's hit show 'THIS IS US', this timely comedy comes to CFRT after successful runs throughout the country, including making its regional premier at Brunstetter's alma matter UNC-Chapel Hill (PlayMakers Repertory Company). CFRT will present the show just a few days after the highly acclaimed Off-Broadway run at the Manhattan Theatre Club closes. CFRT is among some of the first regional theatres to produce 'THE CAKE', proving its place as one of North Carolina's premiere theatres. (more...)

Winner of the Backstage Magazine Audience Choice Award and Best One-Woman Show at the United Solo Festival with a record-breaking number of encores and subsequent productions at Dixon Place and Stonewall Inn, Scheiss Book is a solo show for people who hate solo shows. FACES OF CHANGE collects stories, personal experiences, and interviews from community members of diverse backgrounds, which are assembled in an original script. The project culminates in free public readings followed by post-show discussions. Asolo Rep will host  two public readings in the Cook Theatre on April 7 and 8 at 7pm.
