The Annenberg Center to co-presents Grammy Award-winning choir The Crossing's Month Of Moderns.

This socially distant installation experience is inspired by DEFINITION, an upcoming musical that takes a surrealist look at an African American woman's inner awakenings. Created by director and musician Whitney White, this multi-media event will take the audience through a guided journey with pre-recorded text and music. 

Ars Nova has announced its seventh and final slate of 2021 programming as part of the new Ars Nova Vision Residency program including four events curated by JJJJJerome Ellis. All events will take place on Ars Nova Supra.

Playwrights Foundation, the West Coast's premier launchpad for plays and playwrights, has announced the lineup for the 44th annual Bay Area Playwrights Festival, scheduled to stream online.

After a 15-month shutdown due to the COVID-19 epidemic, proprietors Steve Baruch, Richard Frankel, and Tom Viertel have announced that “Broadway’s Supper Club” Feinstein’s/54 Below will reopen its iconic red door for live performances on June 17, 2021. 

Abingdon Theatre Company has announced three new Artists in Residence for their upcoming 29th Season beginning in the fall. Christine Toy Johnson, Ilda Mason and Matthew McLachlan are set to be the next participants in the Carolyn Halpert Artist in Residence Program which began in 2017.

On May 26 at 8pm ET, cast members of 2016’s Lortel-nominated show “The Wildness” will reunite for a virtual reimagining of the production as part of Ars Nova's Supra series. This one-night-only concert event features members of the theatrical indie-pop band Sky-Pony, including Tony nominees Lauren Worsham, Lilli Cooper and Kyle Jarrow.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, has announced the participants in the sixth round of its Rising Leaders of Color (RLC) Program.

Theatre Horizon's Art Houses program has announced the sixth show of the popular series, which partners professional theatre artists with families and households throughout the Greater Philadelphia region to create original performance works that will be presented on a monthly basis.

New York Theatre Barn will host a free live stream of its award-winning New Works Series on Wednesday, May 12th, 2021 at 7PM EST, featuring excerpts from the new musicals Hart Island and Cowboy Bob. The live 1-hour presentation will also feature a conversation with the writers and creative team. 

Ars Nova has announced additional comedy events in May for Ars Nova Supra. This premier streaming platform showcases some of New York City’s most promising emerging artists and currently serves as the online home for the majority of Ars Nova presentations.

Geffen Stayhouse’s sixth virtual production Jared Mezzocchi’s SOMEONE ELSE’S HOUSE world premieres April 30, 2021. This live, virtual, and interactive theatrical experience was written and will be performed by Jared. Based on the true-life haunting encounters of generations of his family living in New England, the Zoomed audience will follow along with Jared narrating his family histories using the “haunting kits” pre-mailed before their reserved performance.

FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME, the critically acclaimed improv troupe founded by Thomas Kail, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Anthony Veneziale, launches the FLS Academy Summer Season on May 1, with “Welcome to the Cypher” adult workshops; two new adult workshops “For the Love of Improv” and “Flows & Shows;” and a “Got Your Back: FLS Academy Showcase” where facilitators make up a hip-hop show based on audience suggestions.

The Crossing has announced the return of its annual summer festival of new music, The Month of Moderns 2021, co-presented with the Annenberg Center from June 3-19, 2021. Each of the three outdoor programs will be performed with singers and audience spatially distanced using The Crossing’s Echoes Amplification Kits.

Ars Nova has announced its sixth slate of 2021 programming including four events curated by Jenny Koons as part the new Ars Nova Vision Residency program. Jenny Koons’s Vision Residency programming includes four events with $10 single tickets. Subscriptions to Ars Nova Supra livestream are available for $15 per month.
