Juggling both film and stage careers, Michael Crawford had established himself as one of theatre's finest leading men long before he opened as 'the Phantom' in Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, beginning one of the most widely acclaimed and memorable performances in theatre history. Few stars are as widely connected to a single role as Crawford is to 'the Phantom.' His Los Angeles and Broadway performances earned an astonishing catalogue of critical recognition including the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards, and the Los Angeles Dramalogue Award and Drama Critics Award. Since leaving PHANTOM after nearly four years in the role in London, New York and Los Angeles; Crawford has become a multi-platinum recording artist and one of the world's most sought after concert and stage performers, playing to sold-out venues around the globe. In addition to his recent concert work, stage credits in London and on Broadway include Billy, Flowers for Algernon, Black Comedy, Dance of the Vampires, The Woman in White, and Barnum. It was announced late last night that he will make his eagerly awaited return to the stage alongside Danielle Hope, winner of the BBC's smash hit Over The Rainbow, when the show opens at the LONDON PALLADIUM next year. We checked in with the star to get the first scoop!

The West End premiere of FLASHDANCE: THE MUSICAL will be postponed until tomorrow evening, September 25. Due to technical difficulties, tonight's opening has been cancelled. The official premiere of the new musical will be October 14.

The smash hit musical Grease will end its triumphant West End run next spring prior to a UK tour. Grease returned to London on 25 July 2007 (with a press night on 8th August) and since its premiere the feel-good audience favourite has played over 1,300 performances and has been seen by over 1¼million theatregoers at the Piccadilly Theatre, where it is the longest running show in the venue's history. Grease will close on 30 April 2011 after nearly four electrifyin' years in the West End and will immediately begin a national tour opening at the Edinburgh Playhouse on 6 May 2011. Full tour schedule and casting will be announced.

Tickets will go on sale on Thursday 23 September for Ghost The Musical which begins its West End run at the Piccadilly Theatre on 22 June 2011, with booking open for performances until 28 January 2012.

Matt Willis and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt will lead the cast in Flashdance The Musical, which opens in the West End at the Shaftesbury Theatre this autumn. Previewing from 24 September 2010 with Gala night on 14 October, Flashdance The Musical is currently booking until 26 February 2011. Press preview performances are Monday 11 October at 7.30pm, Tuesday 12 October at 7.30pm, Wednesday 13 October at 7.30pm and Thursday 14 October at 7pm, with reviews embargoed until Friday 15 October 2011.

Grease celebrates its third electrifying Birthday this July with a new leading lady. The producers announced that Lauren Samuels will join the cast of the smash-hit musical on 26 July 2010. Making her West End debut, Lauren will star in the iconic role of 'Sandy' until 22 January 2011 at London's Piccadilly Theatre. Noel Sullivan will continue as 'Danny' and Siubhan Harrison will also join the show in the role of 'Rizzo'.

The smash-hit musical Grease has a new cast from 25 January 2010 including popular Heart presenter Toby Anstis. Now running in its eighth year, Queen and Ben Elton's musical WE WILL ROCK YOU, is set to rock on through 2010, according to an announcement today that the show's present run will be extened once again.
