One Last Time...Javier Munoz Plays His Final Performance in HAMILTON Today

Javier Munoz plays his final performance in Hamilton tonight, January 14, at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, Michael Luwoye who was an alternate for the role on Broadway and went on to lead the Angelica tour, will be taking over as Hamilton.

Tomorrow, December 7th, Museum of the City of New York will ceremonially unveil their newly restored historic nickel bronze statues of two legendary New Yorkers, Alexander Hamilton and Dewitt Clinton, designed three quarters of a century ago for the Museum by noted sculptor Adolph Alexander Weinman (1870-1952). For the occasion, the Museum will be joined by three stars of the immensely popular Broadway show, Hamilton: Jevon McFerrin, Lexi Lawson, and Anthony Lee Medina.

Lightning Theif Composer and Lyricist Rob Rokicki will host the celebration in honor of the cast album reaching the #3 spot on the Billboard Cast Album award. I was lucky enough to chat with James Hayden Rodriguez, Shenandoah Conservatory alum and cast member of 'The Lightning Theif Musical' about his experience being a part of a show whose subject material has such a cult following, and hear about his career.

#EduHam is a series of HAMILTON Wednesday matinees made available to New York City schools with a high concentration of students from low-income families for the ticket price of only $10. This educational partnership, made possible through a $1.46 million grant by The Rockefeller Foundation, is not only providing 20,000 NYC public school students with the opportunity to see HAMILTON on Broadway, but provides educational material by Gilder Lehrman to incorporate material from the musical into the American History curriculum.
