This April, legendary songwriter Ervin Drake will turn 95. A Long Island Music Hall of Fame Inductee, Mr. Drake has written some of the American Songbook's most beloved classics, including: 'It Was a Very Good Year,' 'I Believe,' 'Tico Tico,' 'Quando Quando Quando,' 'Perdito' and 'Good Morning, Heartache.' 2014 also marks the 50th anniversary of the Broadway production of Drake's 'What Makes Sammy Run' (starring Steve Lawrence), which featured songs 'A Room Without Windows' and 'The Friendliest Thing.' On Today, April 25 at 8 pm, Producer Sandi Durell, Musical Director Jon Weber, and Host Charles Grodin will lead a tribute to Ervin's illustrious career that will feature a star-studded cast of musical theater and cabaret stars

With original stars Len Cariou, Penny Fuller & Lee Roy Reams, 54 Below reunited three of the original stars of this Strouse/Adams/Comden/Green smash musical Applause, in celebration of a most cherished score. The trio reminisced and re-lived adored songs such as The Best Night of My Life, Think How It's Gonna Be & One Hallowe'en along with the amazing supporting cast. After an initial workshop showcase at the new St. James Theatre in London and recent reading at Ken Davenport Studios in New York, which featured Tony Award nominated actress Anita Gillette, 41N 50W makes a 10 performance UK premiere at Southampton's SeaCity Museum. This new play written by Robert Neal Marshall and produced by Baltimore TheatreWorks is being presented within walking distance from where TITANIC set sail in 1912. Performances run today, April 10th - 19th at 7:30pm. A special opening night event will celebrate SeaCity museum's 2nd birthday with a portion of the evening's proceeds donated to a maritime charity. The April 14th performance will be followed by a memorial service in remembrance of souls lost on TITANIC. The British Titanic Society will also host an invited performance of the play as part of their 2014 Convention.

Singer/songwriter Ruth Carlin returns to the Laurie Beechman Theater this spring with an illuminating exploration of the eclectic repertoire of iconic folkie turned cabaret favorite, Judy Collins. 'A Light in the Window - Songs of Judy Collins.' Performances are May 17th at 7:30pm and June 12th at 7pm. The show will be directed by Scott Barnes, with accompaniment by Carlin's Musical Director, Paul Greenwood, on Piano, Dick Sarpola on bass and John Redsecker on drums. Classic 1970s sitcom 'Welcome Back, Kotter,' which introduced the masses to The Lost Boy's playwright Ron Palillo and actor John Travolta, will join the Me-TV line-up beginning on Monday, April 14. 'Kotter,' which produced 95 episodes on ABC from 1975-79, will replace 'F Troop' in the Monday to Thursday 9:30 p.m. half-hour.
