Those are some of the elements that enthralled the entire 11th grade of Collier County when they attended last week's production of a?oeShipwrecked,a?? a new adaptation of Shakespeare's a?oeThe Tempesta?? performed by Gulfshore Playhouse and the Naples Philharmonic at Artisa?"Naples.

Syracuse Stage has once again brought a creative and entertaining play to its audience. This time around it is Kate Hamill's modern take on the Jane Austen 1813 classic novel Pride and Prejudice. Hamill's creative and comedic Pride and Prejudice is certainly not what you might expect. The high energy comedic production is full of wonderful surprises under the impressive direction of Jason O'Connell.

Lauren Gunderson's THE REVOLUTIONISTS at Gulfshore Playhouse tells the story of Olympe de Gouges, a woman playwright during the French Revolution, along with three other strong women living in France during the Reign of Terror: Marie Antoinette, Charlotte Corday, and Marianne Angelle.

Directed by Gulfshore Playhouse Founder and Producing Artistic Director Kristen Coury, the French fantasy takes the stage Jan. 12 to Feb. 3.

Though her aggressive style of dishing out insults has earned her the title of standup comedy's Queen of Mean, Lisa Lampanelli comes somewhat closer to being the Empress of Empathy in her comedy revue about the serious subject of food and body image, STUFFED.
