One among them also includes star of stage and screen Martha Plimpton, up until recently. According to the Chicago Tribune, Plimpton has withdrawn from the Ensemble.

From June 18 through September 3, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is open until 9 pm for Summer Tuesdays, offering music and refreshments in the museum rotunda in addition to exhibitions on view in the galleries. Films, conversations, and performances enhance opportunities for visitors to engage with the museum and the Frank Lloyd Wright designed building that celebrates 60 years as an architectural icon in 2019. Also starting in June, Summer of Know, a conversation series addressing urgent issues through the generative lens of art, returns to the Guggenheim, featuring artists, activists, and other professionals discussing topics such as LGBTQIA+ rights in a global context, environmental activism, and housing rights. Last night, celebrities, educators, and families gathered at the world-famous Carnegie Hall in NYC to recognize 800 teen artists and writers from across the country as National Medalists in the 2019 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards-the nation's longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7-12, presented by the nonprofit Alliance for Young Artists & Writers.

Hoor Al Qasimi, President and Director of Sharjah Art Foundation, today announced the appointment of Dr Omar Kholeif to the newly created position of Director of Collections and Senior Curator, where he will lead the foundation's acquisition strategy and develop a year-round programme of exhibitions, as well as shape international partnerships, organise symposia and develop publications. Kholeif will also work in collaboration with Al Qasimi and the Sharjah Art Foundation team in developing plans for Jurainah Art Space a new, 13,000 square-meter building that will house the foundation's growing collection of more than 1,000 works of contemporary and 20th-century art rooted in the region and radiating internationally. Kholief begins his new role in June 2019.

TheaterWorks and the Wadsworth Museum of Art are joining forces to present drag superstar Varla Jean Merman in her one-woman comedy cabaret Under a Big Top on Sunday, June 23rd at 7pm. The performance, co-written by Hartford-area playwright Jacques Lamarre and directed by Michael Schiralli, will be held in the Wadsworth Atheneum's theater.
