Today WILSN released a new song and video titled “Do This,” the first taste of new music to come in 2019. Influenced by big voices like Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Jessie J, and Sam Smith, the singer's 2015 EP Don't Give It Up has racked up over 1.2M plays on Spotify. Upon release, Don't Give It Up was praised by HillyDilly, The Guardian, and Pigeons & Planes, who said “There's a lot of pop music that strives to be soulful but falls short… (WILSN) is one of the rare artists who actually gets it right.”

Today, platinum selling, two-time Grammy Nominee Lauren Daigle has released a very special deluxe edition of her best-selling Christmas album, Behold. It features three new tracks “Winter Wonderland,” “Away in a Manger,” and “O Come O Come Emmanuel.” On November 7th, Lauren will make her late night TV debut on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon at 11:35/10:35c on NBC. The University of Saint Joseph will hold a performance by South African, New Haven based, singer Thabisa on Thursday, November 8, 2018 in the Hoffman Auditorium at 7:30pm. Opening act Luna & the Lost Souls also performs.

The Sydney Opera House today announced that two more songstresses will join the cast of Hear Me Roar, a sensational new music event that presents some of the greatest songs written by women performed by some of Australia's leading female artists. Tania Doko, one half of Bachelor Girl, and Sarah McLeod, lead singer of Australian rock band The Superjesus, will bring their unique voices to the Concert Hall on 13 and 14 December.

The Doo Wop Project begins at the beginning, tracing the evolution of Doo Wop from the classic sound of five guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today. Featuring current and former stars of Broadway's smash hits Jersey Boys and Motown: The Musical, the Doo Wop Project brings its unparalleled sound to the State Theatre on Friday, November 16.

Today, poignant powerhouse songstress Lindsay Lou announces an extensive North American fall tour with her band. Uke Night is back! Sultry smoke and white-hot fire escape the lips of Austin singer/songwriter Kelly Hafner on her debut release, If it's Love. It's an ambitious work for an independent artist releasing her first full-length album. If it's Love will be distributed by The Orchard, and released by Smokey Jazz Records. Last week, W Hotels  announced its newest project, W Records along with the program's first artist, global R&B rising star and PMR/ Interscope Recording Artist Amber Mark. Today Mark follows up with the second single from the project and accompanying music video for 'Can You Hear Me (Rework).' The music video was directed by Renee Rodenkirchen and shot at W Montreal.

In support of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Lexi Todd will be rolling out tracks from her forthcoming EP Maria, Immured, which chronicles a close friend's abusive relationship from Lexi's perspective. The EP tells the true-to-life story of Maria's harrowing journey as she goes from rationalizing her abuser's actions to ultimately gaining the courage to leave him. Lexi's goal is to artistically and thoughtfully spread awareness of the different aspects of abuse—whether physical, verbal, emotional, or sexual—while also inspiring survivors to find their own voice. The first track from the 3-song set, “Complacent,” was released yesterday and featured by the feminist music and culture blog, Audiofemme. “Complacent” finds Maria in a relationship defined by serial cheating, lying, blame, and manipulation, yet she continually convinces herself to accept and be satisfied with the situation. Lexi offered to Audiofemme, “I thought it was important to write 'Complacent' from my point of view for a few reasons. Mostly, because that's how I experienced it, so by writing it from my perspective it kept it honest. I wanted to lend a voice to survivors of domestic abuse who may find it difficult to find their own voice, and to encourage all people – not just those directly impacted by [domestic violence] – to speak out in solidarity.” “Complacent” will be followed by the second track in the series, 'Open Wounds,' later this month, which highlights the harmful effects of constant emotional abuse.
