Veronica Stern, Willem Butler & More to Lead ANASTASIA North American Tour 2022-2023 Season

Casting has been announced for the next season of the North American tour of the Broadway production of ANASTASIA. This company will begin performances August 23, 2022, during the second week of a two-week engagement at the Citizens Bank Opera House in Boston, MA. Veronica Stern will lead the cast as Anya.

For something completely different this holiday season, you might want to consider Signature Theatre's latest offering. Billy Elliot the Musical is not your standard holiday fare by any means. Sure, there are big production numbers, but the story features important underlying themes of labor tensions, economic inequality, and acceptance. In other words, this show follows my philosophy that theater is meant to educate as well as entertain. The production also features some pretty incredible ballet and tap choreography with a cast that performs it beautifully.

In the spirit of Anna Deavere Smith and The Laramie Project, several area theatre artists are creating a new work in the wake of the increased allegations against superstar and hometown favorite Bill Cosby. The Bill Cosby Assault is set to debut in the 2015 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Right now, the producer has gathered some of the city's top theatre artists and they have begun a Kickstarter campaign at www.kickstarter.com/projects/1401536246/the-bill-cosby-assault-a-play. Money raised will fund the completion of the play by a writing team and director, a workshop with the actors, and some of the production costs of the 2015 Fringe Festival debut.

Furthering its commitment to the intimate exploration of the human spirit through storytelling, Lantern Theater Company continues its 20th anniversary season with a world premiere adaptation of Dylan Thomas' beloved poem A Child's Christmas in Wales. Co-created by Lantern Artistic Director Charles McMahon and Philadelphia interdisciplinary artist Sebastienne Mundheim, the devised performance integrates Mundheim's well-known puppet sculpture work with Thomas' evocative language.
