HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH Struts Into Orlando

Following the success of last year's sold-out production of The Rocky Horror Show,AntiGravity Orlando and Red Fish Theatre are again teaming up to present a new twist on Hedwig and the Angry Inch to Central Florida audiences.

THE BILL COSBY ASSAULT to Debut at Philadelphia Fringe 2015; Kickstarter Launched

In the spirit of Anna Deavere Smith and The Laramie Project, several area theatre artists are creating a new work in the wake of the increased allegations against superstar and hometown favorite Bill Cosby. The Bill Cosby Assault is set to debut in the 2015 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Right now, the producer has gathered some of the city's top theatre artists and they have begun a Kickstarter campaign at www.kickstarter.com/projects/1401536246/the-bill-cosby-assault-a-play. Money raised will fund the completion of the play by a writing team and director, a workshop with the actors, and some of the production costs of the 2015 Fringe Festival debut.

Lantern Theater Company to Present A CHILD'S CHRISTMAS IN WALES, 12/5-1/5

Furthering its commitment to the intimate exploration of the human spirit through storytelling, Lantern Theater Company continues its 20th anniversary season with a world premiere adaptation of Dylan Thomas' beloved poem A Child's Christmas in Wales. Co-created by Lantern Artistic Director Charles McMahon and Philadelphia interdisciplinary artist Sebastienne Mundheim, the devised performance integrates Mundheim's well-known puppet sculpture work with Thomas' evocative language. The production is family-friendly for children 8 years and older and runs December 5, 2013 - January 5, 2014.

Headlong Dance Theater's AVALANCHE Runs June 6-8

Philadelphia-based Headlong Dance Theater brings a new performance work to New York City that considers the performer's body over a lifetime of performing, and the idea of an ordinary life. Avalanche will be performed June 6-8, 2013, 8 p.m., at Danspace Project, St. Mark's Church-in-the-Bowery. (Tickets are $18 and available at 212-674-8112 or danspaceproject.org.) "If you keep performing," the work posits, "you find something new - something bigger and wilder, and more ordinary. You find your actual body."

FringeArts Presents Second Annual Jumpstart Runs 5/13-14

Continuing to seek out new and emerging talent in the field of live performance, FringeArts (formerly the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe) presents the second annual Jumpstart (May 13-14 at the Painted Bride Arts Center), a showcase of six artists performing original, completed works. As part of the organization's expanding year-round programming, the series provides artists at earlier stages in their career the opportunity to show their work with the support of FringeArts' audiences and staff.

Brooklyn Photo-Based Artist Deana Lawson Comes to Lafayette College, 2/27

Photo-based artist Deana Lawson will visit Lafayette College from Feb. 27 through March 4 as an artist-in-residence working on the creation of her own work. She will meet with advanced art students, art classes and give an artist talk at 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28 in the Williams Center for the Arts, room 108.

British Songwriter Jon Allen Featured on SAFE HAVEN Movie Soundtrack

The British singer/songwriter Jon Allen has yet another one of his songs appearing on the soundtrack of a US movie. The upcoming film, 'Safe Haven,' starring Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel, is set to hit theaters across North America on Valentine's Day, February 14th and will feature Jon Allen's song 'Joanna' on its soundtrack.

Headlong Dance Theater’s THIS TOWN IS A MYSTERY Runs 9/7-22

This September, the residents of four Philadelphia households will open their homes to audiences and perform in the premiere of Headlong Dance Theater's This Town Is A Mystery. Headlong has selected a diverse group of households, chosen from over forty applications in a citywide open call for participants, for this unprecedented performance project that will transform each home into a theater and its residents into performers. The pieces will be presented from September 7 through 22 as part of the 16th annual Philadelphia Live Arts Festival.

Theatre Exile Presents CABARET OF THE EXILED Tonight, 6/7

Celebrate the end of Theatre Exile's 2011-2012 season with all of the people who have made it possible, a night full of all the rambunctious humor and virtuosic performances that audiences have come to expect from Exile over the years. Theatre Exile presents their annual fundraising Cabaret of the Exiled, an evening of performances starring the actors and artists who have graced Exile stages over the last 15 years, with a few special guest stars and surprise acts, all in support of Theatre Exile's work. Tonight, June 7th, at Christ Church Neighborhood House, Exile will start the summer off right, with live music, stand up comedy and silent auction packages.
