Berkshire Theatre Group and Kate Maguire have announced casting for shows in BTG’s Early Summer 2022 Season. The full season will feature B.R.O.K.E.N code B.I.R.D switching, a world premiere play and recipient of an NEA Grants for Arts Projects Award and more.

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, in a new production by Ruth Stage, will play The Theater at St. Clements (423 W. 46th Street) beginning previews July 15, and opening night is set for July 24. The original scheduled run of this production, which had been announced for January, 2022, was postponed due to the ongoing health crisis.

Westport Country Playhouse is staging the comic satire, “Straight White Men,” by Young Jean Lee, from now through June 5, directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director. The show’s 2018 Broadway run made Lee the first Asian American female playwright to have a work produced there.

The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) has announced three of Broadway's bright stars are joining us to encourage and entertain attendees at this year's International Thespian Festival (ITF). They'll also join in celebrating the best in high school theatre as multiple productions are performed on the Main Stage daily.

Westport Country Playhouse will present “Straight White Men: Dig Deeper,” a series of special events, free-of-charge and open to the community, surrounding the comedy, “Straight White Men,” playing May 24 – June 5. The events will enhance the community's insight on the production and its themes.

Join in this summer for the New York Theater Festival. THE FOURTH ALAAFIN OF OYO will be presented on MAY 30TH, JUNE 1ST, and JUNE 4TH at the LATEA THEATER.

The production reunites Kline and Lamos, who were classmates at Northwestern University. Others in the ensemble are Bill Army, Denver Milord, Nick Westrate, Akiko Akita, and Ashton Muñiz.

TigerBear Productions will present the World Premiere of Prince Charming, You’re Late, written and performed by Billy Hipkins (The ALSO-RAN (For the BENEFIT of Miss JENNIE GOURLAY) and directed by Perry Dell’Aquila at Theatre Two at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street New York, NY 10036), June 29-July 23.

Since theatre has returned to New York City, I have seen many different shows. I’ve been to musicals, plays, and even interactive shows. But nothing can compare to one of the modern classic plays, The Play That Goes Wrong. I’ve been lucky enough to see it twice over the past two months, and even knowing all of the twists and turns, the second performance ended up being just as entertaining, if not more, than the first! Recently, I had the opportunity to interview Chris Lanceley, who plays “Jonathan” in the off-Broadway production of The Play That Goes Wrong at New World Stages.

CreateTheater New Works Festival and JK Productions present OCEAN IN A TEACUP, a spiritual quest musical based on a true story. This Original Musical Set in India runs as part of CreateTheater New Works Festival, from April 28 through May 7, 2022, at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036).

The Whitefire Theatre will present King Solomon's Treasure April 7- May 12, 2022. It's New York in 1990. In midtown Manhattan, King Solomon's Treasure is a shop where curios, collectables, and vintage items are for sale, things as disparate as a 30-year-old bottle of Orange Crush and a baseball signed by Jackie Robinson.

From March 30 to April 17, Theater for the New City (TNC), located at 155 First Ave. (at E. 10th Street), will present 'Larry & Lucy,' a new play by Peter Welch directed by Joe John Batista.

In honor of Women’s History Month, the 7th Annual W.H.A.M. Festival of Manhattan will present Baggage From BaghDAD, a new solo play about the power of family and perseverance amid a harrowing past.

BATS Improv, the Bay Area's premier improv performing and training company, has announced Karen Brelsford and Derek Yee as the company's new Co-Artistic Directors. It's the first time in the company's history that two people will share the job of Artistic Director. BATS Improv (Bay Area Theatresports), is the largest and longest-running Improv Theatre and school in Northern California, founded in 1986.

The Marsh announces the line-up for its second digital global festival, MarshStream International Solo Fest, presenting performers from across the nation and around the world in a three-day online marathon of 36 global works.

Theatre 40’s next production of their current season - Lauren Gunderson’s Silent Sky - opens March 17, 2022.  Ann Hearn Tobolowsky directs the cast of Marie Broderick, Dalen Carson, Tammy Mora, Abigail Stewart and Amy Tolsky. I had the chance to throw out a couple of questions to Abigail.
