Barrington Stage Company has announced extensions for the first four productions of the theatre's 2021 season: Who Could Ask for Anything More? The Songs of George Gershwin, Chester Bailey, Eleanor and Boca.
Barrington Stage Company has been presenting award winning theatre in downtown Pittsfield for more than a quarter century. The thought of not producing during the pandemic was unacceptable to BSC Artistic Director, Julianne Boyd, board members and staffers. They went to extraordinary lengths to present a highly irregular and relatively limited number of offerings.
BSC Artistic Director, Julianne Boyd, who directs this production, said that WHO COULD ASK FOR ANYTHING MORE? Is a tribute to Gershwin’s indominable spirit and love-for-life. It is also a joyous and triumphant return of live theatre to the Berkshires following the bleakness of the pandemic.
Celebrating its 75th Anniversary as “The Miracle of the Forest,” Forestburgh Playhouse, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Franklin Trapp, will present Forestburgh Under The Stars, a summer series of exciting, safe outdoor concerts in compliance with local social distancing measures.
For 10 select weekends between June 4 and September 26, the sounds of music and memories will grace the Playhouse’s vintage patio. Seated at socially distanced tables of twos and fours, the patio comes alive seating 100 patrons for each of our four weekend performances — Fridays 5:00p, Saturdays 2:30 and 5:00p, and Sundays at 7:00p.
