PREFORMANCES with Allison Charney delivered again with its triumphant 'Chamber Music Celebration' Thursday afternoon to a full house at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center. Host and series founder, soprano Allison Charney, hosted the afternoon with disarming charm and a profound love of classical music that cleverly masked her creativity in infusing the expertly-performed concert with lessons in music history, theory and practice - along with her signature 'un-Google-able' insights.

Violinist Miranda Cuckson makes her series debut at PREFORMANCES WITH ALLISON CHARNEY's matinee concert - CHAMBER MUSIC CELEBRATION - this Thursday, January 30th @2pm at New York City's acoustical gem, Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center. Cuckson will play Dave Soldier's 'Hammer and Anvil' for solo violin. Cellist Sophie Shao joins Cuckson for Iannis Xenakis' 'Dhipli Zyia' and violist Daniel Panner will round out the group for Zoltán Kodaly's 'Intermezzo for String Trio' and the finale of Beethoven's 'String Trio, op. 3'.

Preformances With Allison Charney Will Present 'Kaddish' - the final movement of Ghost Brothers, the new song cycle composed by Marianna Rosett, with lyrics by Brooke Bailey Johnson - that examines the often-underlooked plight of the children of Holocaust survivors, as they navigate life surrounded by the ghosts of siblings they never knew.

HER/MUSIC;HER/STORY comes to the National Arts Club Monday, January 13, 2020 at 7:30 PM.

The title DYNAMIC DUOS was certainly apt for yesterday's sensational PREFORMANCES with Allison Charney at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center.  Beethoven's history-making Cello Sonata, no. 3 has never sounded better than it did played by the duo of cellist Peter Seidenberg and pianist Hui-Mei Lin who infused this duet with great beauty and authenticity.

Superstar violinist Kelly Hall-Tompkins returns to PREFORMANCES with Allison Charney to play Florence Price's masterful Violin Concerto, no. 2 this Thursday, October 24th at 7pm at Merkin Hall. Ms. Hall-Tompkins makes this appearance in the midst of her 'The Fiddler Expanding Tradition' tour and her work on the composite song cycle, 'Forgotten Voices', an original commission from Music Kitchen: Food for the Soul, which premieres at Carnegie Hall in the spring.

Music Kitchen, an organization founded and led by concert violinist and entrepreneur Kelly Hall-Tompkins, will make its debut at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.

PREFORMANCES with Allison Charney closed out its exciting 10th season on Monday, May 6th at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center with MAY FLOWERS - featuring a star-studded roster including series' founder, soprano Allison Charney, tenor Errin Brooks, counter-tenor Jeffrey Mandelbaum, flutists Tara Helen O'Connor and Marya Martin, cellist Rupei Yeh and pianists Keith Chambers, Helen Huang and Donna Weng Friedman.

PREFORMANCES with Allison Charney presented its matinee concert: 'Chamber Music:  Then and Now' on Monday, March 11th at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center with a plethora of chamber music luminaries, including the Neave Trio, cellist Susan Salm and pianists Reiko Uchida and Benjamin Loeb, performing together with series founder, soprano Allison Charney and collaborative pianist, Craig Ketter.

On Monday October 22 at New York City's acoustically renown Merkin Concert Hall, Kaufmann Music Center acclaimed opera singer, curator and host Allison Charney will welcome audiences to "PREFORMANCES WITH ALLISON CHARNEY" Tenth Anniversary Season.

The new classical series Only at Merkin with Terrance McKnight, featuring, among others, the world-renowned pianists Andre Watts and Ursula Oppens; the world premiere of a piano quintet by acclaimed new music composer Laura Kaminsky; and presentations by Academy and Grammy Awards winner Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Frozen); Emmy, Tony, Grammy and Academy Awards winner Bobby Lopez (Frozen); Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winners Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal); and 10-time Tony winner Maury Yeston (Titanic, Nine) are among the numerous highlights of the Kaufman Music Center's diverse 2018-19 season at Merkin Hall.
