Great Performances returns with its third annual a?oeBroadway's Besta?? lineup of acclaimed theatrical productions, premiering Fridays, November 1-29 at 9 p.m. on PBS(check local listings), pbs.org/gperf and the PBS Video app. This fall's lineup spotlights musicals, comedy and drama: a?oe42nd Street,a?? the Broadway fable of a star-struck chorus girl dreaming of her big break; a?oeRodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I,a?? Lincoln Center Theater's Tony Award-winning revival of the beloved musical classic starring Kelli O'Hara and Ken Watanabe; a?oeKinky Boots,a?? the Broadway blockbuster featuring music and lyrics by pop icon Cyndi Lauper and a book by Broadway legend Harvey Fierstein; a?oeReda?? the Tony Award-winning drama starring Alfred Molina as painter Mark Rothko; and Tony Award-winning director Kenny Leon's modern interpretation of a?oeMuch Ado About Nothing,a?? the first Public Theater production recorded live at Free Shakespeare in the Park by Great Performances in over four decades.

Popular television actor Donny Most, best known for his role as jokester Ralph Malph on the classic sitcom Happy Days, will play Serge in Drayton Entertainment's upcoming production of the hit play 'ART'. The production will run at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse from October 2 to October 20.

Over the last decade, Ryan Murphy has become one of the most influential creators in entertainment. The screenwriter, director and producer has won six Emmy Awards out of 28 nominations and a Tony Award in 2019 for Best Revival of a Play, as a producer. He has also earned three Grammy Award nominations, as a producer.

From Friday, September 13 through Friday, September 20, BAM presents Purpose and Passion: The Cinema of John Singleton, a career retrospective dedicated to the trailblazing late director. 'The sudden, shocking death of John Singleton at the age of just 51 in April 2019 robbed the world of a trailblazing, influential and, arguably, somewhat underrated chronicler of Black life on film,' says series programmer Ashley Clark. 'This is both a full retrospective of the late director's characteristically muscular, thought-provoking cinematic output, and a chance to pay tribute to a singular talent.'

Drama League Award winner Alfred Molina ('Red') guest stars on this Friday's new episode of Disney Junior's hit animated series 'Vampirina.' He voices the role of Sir Ghoulgood, a friendly ghost who resides in the local theater. In the episode, he sings a song titled 'Center Stage' about how he doesn't mean to haunt the theater, but he just can't help but perform, even if humans are around.

Big Hit Entertainment and Trafalgar Releasing announced today that tickets are now on sale for BRING THE SOUL: THE MOVIE, the latest film from global superstars BTS which finds the band at the end of their LOVE YOURSELF tour in Europe. Two venerable Los Angeles intimate theaters will each host a Mueller Report Read-A-Thon, offering Angelenos the opportunity to hear the Mueller Report read aloud, in its entirety, on either side of the City. The Fountain Theatre in East Hollywood will host a single, 15-hour event on Thursday, July 18 from 9 a.m. to midnight. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West L.A. will hold a separate marathon reading, breaking it up into two 8-hour sessions on Monday, July 22 and Tuesday, July 23, each from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission to both Read-A-thons is free and open to the public.
