MUSE/IQUE continues its adventurous yearlong concert series, L.A. Senate Bill 1116, a measure introduced by Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank) which seeks to create a payroll fund to support small nonprofit performing arts venues (SNPAOs), was signed into law September 29, 2022 by Governor Newsom.

It seems everybody is having one of two reactions to Director Daniel Fish’s revival of OKLAHOMA! currently playing at the Ahmanson Theatre. But love it or hate it, so much of this update of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s acclaimed 1943 musical in which a farm girl is courted by two rival suitors, works.

The National Tour of Oklahoma! celebrated its opening night at the Ahmanson Theatre on September 15. The production plays at the Center Theatre Group venue in Los Angeles through October 16. Check out the photos from the opening night red carpet here!

​​​​​​​Grand Ave Arts: All Access, one of L.A.'s longest running free open house events for arts and culture, will return to a live in-person event on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., after a two-year absence due to COVID-19.

The Los Angeles premiere of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! directed by Daniel Fish opens Thursday, September 15 at 8 p.m. at Center Theatre Group / Ahmanson Theatre. The tour will mark the first time a First-Class Equity production of Oklahoma! has toured North America in more than 40 years. This bold interpretation will play through October 16.

Center Theatre Group will present the Los Angeles premiere of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “OKLAHOMA!” directed by Daniel Fish at the Ahmanson Theatre from September 13 through October 16, 2022.

Though fused with the pop sounds of the latest Broadway grab toward tween-friendly franchises, Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin’s score has a heart that leans more toward the unabashed sincerity of The Pajama Game or The Music Man than the more saccharine offerings from the current scene.
