BIO

Celia Mandela Rivera (she/her) - is a Black Latinx/Caribbean actress and director based in Los Angeles. In her work, she seeks to center and amplify Black & Brown voices and experiences. As an actor, she’s worked with Latino Theater Co., Coin & Ghost, IAMA Theatre Co., Antaeus Theatre, The Vagrancy, Rogue Artists Ensemble, La Jolla Playhouse, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre (Regional). As a director, she’s worked with IAMA Theatre Co., Ammunition Theatre, Deaf West, Echo Theatre, Skylight Theatre, Boston Court, Coin & Ghost, Stella Adler’s Art of Acting Studio. Celia was also a National Finalist in the Acting Category at KCACTF. She is the Creator & Co-Founder of BLKLST and a Co-Author of the L.A. Anti-Racist Theatre Standards (LA ARTS). Both aim to hold Los Angeles-based theatre companies accountable to the larger BIPOC theatre community and aim to create a systemic shift that centers equitable practices and norms. Luminous Streets World Premiere To Take Place In Highland Park This September

The Roots and Wings Project will present the world premiere of Luminous Streets in Highland Park, Los Angeles, September 12–28, 2025. This site-specific theatrical tour will feature new plays by Roger Q. Mason, Jesse Bliss, and others, performed in venues along York Boulevard.
