Good Theater will open its 20th anniversary season with THE LIFESPAN OF A FACT, running October 5th through October 30th.

Romance is back in the air at Good Theater with Joshua Harmon's bittersweet hit comedy SIGNIFICANT OTHER. SIGNIFICANT OTHER opens March 2nd and plays through March 20th, 2022 at Good Theater's home, the St. Lawrence Arts Center, 76 Congress Street, Portland. 

Good Theater will return to the St. Lawrence stage with a season of new works, recent Broadway hits, and the long-awaited Maine premiere of the critically acclaimed off-Broadway musical DESPERATE MEASURES, a production which has been on-hold since 2020, when its run was postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Good Theater continues its Second Stage series with MURDERERS, the darkly hilarious comedy by Jeffrey Hatcher. The production will run in repertory with the current main stage show, POPCORN FALLS. Cape Town City Ballet ends this year with their enchanting staging of A CHRISTMAS CAROL - THE STORY OF SCROOGE. Good Theater announces the appointment of Lynne McGhee and Hannah Daly to two new part-time positions for the upcoming 2019/2020 season. Lynne McGhee steps into the position of Development and Special Events Director, and Hannah Daly steps into the position of Public Relations Director. The theatrical scene continued to be lively in Maine this year, with the Portland-area theatres presenting a number of stunning world premieres and the musical theatre scene gloriously vibrant. These are my personal choices of the best in Maine, grouped by theatre company and show: Because their repertoires are so vastly different, and because both companies produced outstanding seasons, my vote for highest honors goes to both Maine State Music Theatre and the Good Theater.
