Good Theater, the professional company in residence at the St. Lawrence Arts Center, 76 Congress Street, Portland, will present the Maine premiere of Paul Rudnick's REGRETS ONLY. The show opens tonight, January 28 and plays through February 22.

The performance schedule for Regrets Only is: Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 ($20), Fridays at 7:30 ($25), Saturday matinees at 3:00 ($25), Saturday evenings at 7:30 ($28) and Sunday matinees at 2:00 ($28). Tickets are available on line at www.goodtheater.com or by calling the Good Theater box office 207-885-5883.

Regrets Only is a comedy that explores the question, how do you have an upscale wedding in NYC when all of the gay people go on strike? No gown, no flowers, no photographer and no food are just a few of the hurdles the bride and her family must overcome on the big day.

Set in a New York City penthouse, the Good Theater production stars Laura Houck (Becky's New Car) as Tibby McCullough, the mother of the bride; Paul Haley (Death by Design, Frost/Nixon) as Hank Hadley, a renowned fashion designer; Paul Drinan (August Osage County, The Little Dog Laughed) as Jack McCullough, the bride's father; Meredith Lamothe (The Importance of Being Earnest, Bedroom Farce) as Spencer McCullough, the bride; Amy Roche (Clybourne Park, The Spitfire Grill) as Myra, the wacky maid; and Suzanne Rankin (Good People) as Marietta Claypoole, the bride's grandmother. Brian P. Allen, Good Theater's Artistic Director, directs the production.

Regrets Only is designed by Stephen Underwood with Jeanne Handy serving as the interior designer and Cheryl Dolan as the scenic artist and props artisan. Justin Cote is designing the costumes with Iain Odlin as the lighting designer. Craig Robinson is the assistant technical director and Michael Lynch is the production stage manager.

Paul Rudnick, the author of Regrets Only, is well known for his comedic scripts including The Addams Family Values, In and Out, Jeffrey, and I Hate Hamlet. Ben Brantley, when reviewing Rudnick's The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told in The New York Times, wrote that, "Line by line, Mr. Rudnick may be the funniest writer for the stage in the United States today."

Regrets Only debuted in New York at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 2006 starring Christime Baranski, George Grizzard, David Rasche, Sian Phillips, Jackie Hoffman and Diane Davis. Critics had this to say: "One of the funniest quip-meisters on the planet..." The New York Times; Hilariously witty..." Show Business Weekly; "A devastatingly accurate political social satire" BackStage.

Still to come this season at Good Theater is the Maine premiere of Sharr White's The Other Place (March 4-29) and Legends: The Music of Barbra Streisand and Underwaterguy 2.0 running in rep (April 8-26).
