Ya Han Chang was born and raised in Taichung, Taiwan. After receiving her BFA and MA degrees in vocal performance (with a specialization in Opera) from the prestigious Taipei National University of the Arts, she moved to New York in 2007 to further pursue her career in musical theatre. A proud graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

Taiwan native Ya Han Chang (Sayonara, The Subtle Body, Eastbound) and Ellis Gage (James & the Giant Peach, Dani Girl, Far From Canterbury), both known for their work on stage in the USA, will play Diana and Gabe, respectively.
Village Theatre today announced that tickets are on sale now for the Village Originals Beta Production of Eastbound, a new bilingual musical about the unexpected meeting of two brothers from opposite sides of the world. Directed by Desdemona Chiang (Seattle Rep: The Winter’s Tale) and Music Directed by R.J. Tancioco (Village Theatre: Hairspray, Newsies), this is a fully-produced developmental production with scenic design by Timothy Mackabee, costume design by Johanna Pan, and lighting design by Robert J. The Green Room 42 kicked off their 2020 of 'GR42 Sings' with a bang! In their introductory season they tackled composers such as Rodgers & Hammerstein, Andrew Lippa, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Alan Menken and Andrew Lloyd Webber, as well as celebrating Disney Villains and singing through In the Heights. They started off their 2nd season by singing through the music that has been a staple of musical theatre: The Music of Boublil & Schönberg. “GR42 Sings Boublil & Schönberg” was a night where we will fall back in love with the classics from Les Miserables and Miss Saigon, as well as listen to some lesser known work such as The Pirate Queen and Martin Guerre.
This winter and spring, Joe's Pub a?" a program and venue of The Public Theater a?" is honoring new voices in musical theater through a variety of shows. From Broadway performers in concert to new musicals presented in the concert setting, there's something for every fan of musicals happening this season.
