Peter Filichia, noted theatre journalist, author and President of the Theatre World Awards, hosted the 46th Anniversary Gala for Amas Musical Theatre, New York City's award-winning pioneer in diversity and multi-ethnic casting in the performing arts since 1968, on Monday, March 30th, 2015 at the Baruch Performing Arts Center (East 25th Street between Lexington & 3rd Avenues). Amas Musical Theatre's Donna Trinkoff (Artistic Producer) Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy will present FAME: The Musical, based on the 1980 musical film conceived and developed by David De Silva, with a book by Jose Fernandez, lyrics by Jacques Levy, and music by Steve Margoshes (Title song 'Fame' by Dean Pitchford & Michael Gore). Directed by Christopher Scott and David Drake (Associate Director), choreography by Monica Johnson and musical direction by Trevor Bachman, the production will feature 29 members of 'The Teen Academy.' Performances will begin on Friday, May 1, 2015 (and continue through May 10) at The Theatre at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street - between 1st & 2nd Aves). The Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) The Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy will present 9 to 5: The Musical, based on the 1980 20th Century Fox film and originally produced on Broadway by Robert Greenblatt. Directed by Christopher Scott with choreography by Monica Johnson and musical direction by Trevor Bachman, the production will feature 26 members of "The Teen Academy."
