Cunningham, Riti Sachdeva, Mary Kathryn Nagle, Juliana Francis Kelly and Tony Torn. Melissa Crespo, Mia Rovegno, and Michael Leibenluft will direct these presentations, all at various stages in their development process. These readings are free and open to the public, and take place in the Great Room at 138 South Oxford Street in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.

The Civilians, the award-winning New York-based theatre company, announces the members of its 2013-14 R & D Group. The group's emerging and established artists were selected from over one hundred applicants. The R & D Group is comprised of artists from multiple theatrical disciplines. Each artist or creative team will develop an original work over the season. The artists and projects were selected to represent a range of different strategies for making new work from creative inquiry and research. This diversity of approach helps feed a culture of innovation in the group, making the R & D Group an effective lab of experimentation for the field of investigative theater.

BroadwayWorld has learned that today, May 20, Ars Nova is hosting a private industry reading of Nick Blaemire's When the World Ends, a new musical for which he wrote the book, music and lyrics. Blaemire is best known for penning Broadway's Glory Days and performing in Cry Baby on Broadway. The reading is being directed by John Simpkins and musical directed by Jesse Vargas, who also did the arrangements.
