Rene Staub leads Randy Stamm and a large cast of fractured fairy tale stars in a musical tale of love, loss, daring heroics, and dragons, donkeys, and ogres
York Little Theatre will give a new meaning to "going green" as they present the musical comedy SHREK the Musical, July 18-20 and 24-27. The musical will transport audiences to a faraway kingdom that is turned upside down. Things get ugly when an unseemly ogre -not a handsome prince- shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Add a donkey who won't shut up, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and the result is a big mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand...and his name is Shrek. Based on the Oscar winning DreamWorks film that started it all, SHREK the Musical brings the hilarious story of everyone's favorite ogre to life on stage, teaching the lesson : being different is what makes us special.

Director Rene Staub brings Mel Brooks' film-turned-musical-turned-film extravaganza of Broadway's greatest schlock to the YLT stage, and audiences love it
York Little Theatre promises side-splitting laughter on their main stage with their summer blockbuster hit THE PRODUCERS, opening July 12. Called the 'biggest hit in Broadway history,' THE PRODUCERS won more Tony Awards than any other musical (12), including Best Book, Best Score and Best Musical. Based on Mel Brooks' 1968 film of the same name, this raucous, in-your-face musical comedy features a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer (Randy Staam) and his mild-mannered accountant (Lyle Hieronymus), concocting a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history, thereby milking their backers out of millions of dollars...but the ludicrous show becomes a smash hit! Adding to the crazy mix of characters is a curvy blonde bombshell office assistant Ulla (Rachel Ann Morgan), an unstable playwright Franz Liebkind (Andrew Matsuer), hack director Roger De Bris (Christopher Quigley) and his flamboyant assistant Carmen Ghia (Bradlee Alan Gorrera).
