Hershey Area Playhouse's THE 39 STEPS Begins Tonight

By:

Just in time for Halloween, Hershey Area Playhouse is proud to present the hilariously funny thriller, THE 39 STEPS, about a man who goes to the theater expecting entertainment, but quickly becomes a man on the run being chased across the top of trains.

THE 39 STEPS is a fast-paced, comedic spoof of the classic 1935 Alfred Hitchcock film, in which four actors portray more than 150 characters, sometimes changing roles faster than the blink of an eye, including right in front of the audience.

"THE 39 STEPS contains all the elements I love in theater and classic film," said the play's director Jennifer Feldser. "There's the plot worthy of any Hitchcock thriller, mixed with witty banter and comedy reminiscent of a 1930's screwball movie. This large ensemble of eclectic characters is created by four, incredibly gifted performers."

Cast members include: Steve Dincau as Richard Hannay; Kate Morgan as Annabella Schmidt, Margaret and Pamela; Randy Stamm as Clown I; and Curt Sisco as Clown II.

"This production would not be what it is without them or the talented crew supporting them, said Feldser. "We have had such a joyful time creating this show. I can't wait for audiences to join in on the fun."

In addition to Feldser, production staff members for THE 39 STEPS include: Maxine Oliver, producer; Matt Ford, stage manager; Mark Maguire of Triforce Pro Audio, light and sound designer; Mary Szeltner, costumer; and Michael Feldser and Michael Morgan, set construction.

Experience this masterful and mysterious farce, running tonight, Oct. 8, through Oct. 11 and Oct. 15-18, 2015. Thursday through Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday performances begin at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for teens/adults and $17 for kids ages 12 and under. Tickets are available by visiting www.HersheyAreaPlayhouse.com or by calling the Playhouse's box office at 717-533-8525.
