American Classical Orchestra Opens Season at Lincoln Center with Prodigy Adrian Romoff

The American Classical Orchestra opens its 2017-2018 season on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 8:00 p.m., at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center with a concert of Mendelssohn and Berwald, featuring 12-year old prodigy and Mensa competition winner Adrian Romoff in his Lincoln Center debut, led by Music Director and ACO founder Thomas Crawford. The program includes Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto in G minor with Romoff on fortepiano; Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4, 'Italian'; and Berwald's Symphony No. 3, 'Singuliere'.

On Today, September 22, 2016 at 8:00PM at Alice Tully Hall, the American Classical Orchestra, a 50-piece period instrument orchestra devoted to preserving and performing the repertoire of 17th, 18th and 19th century composers, presents its opening night concert of its 32nd Season. The program, which will be conducted by Thomas Crawford, will include Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 3  'Scottish', Berlioz's Les nuits d'été with mezzo-soprano Avery Amereau, and Cipriani Potter's Symphony No. 10. Artistic Director and Founder Thomas Crawford says of this program, 'In Mendelssohn's stormy Scottish Symphony, period instruments enliven the thrilling orchestration and memorable tunes for which the composer is so beloved. In Berlioz's evocative Les nuits d'été, the ACO proudly introduces the extraordinary young American mezzo-soprano Avery Amereau. A rarely heard symphony by British composer Cipriani Potter completes a concert that takes the audience back into the luxurious sonorities of the Romantic Era.'

Music Academy of the West Announces 2014 Concerto Night Soloists; Concert Set for 7/19

Having bested the field at this year's Concerto Competition Finals, three accomplished instrumentalists will take featured turns as soloists with the Academy Festival Orchestra under the baton of New York Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Joshua Weilerstein at the Granada Theatre on Saturday, July 19. Beginning at 8 pm, the concert will conclude with a performance of Tchaikovsky's soaring Symphony No. 5 in E Minor, Op. 64. Tickets start at $15.
