BIO
Pamela Mala Sinha is a Canadian actress and playwright best known for her acclaimed 2012 solo show Crash. The production earned her two Dora Mavor Moore Awards: one for Outstanding New Play and another for Outstanding Performance by a Female in a Principal Role – Play (Large Theatre). She had previously received a Dora nomination in 2011 for her performance in Anusree Roy’s Brothel #9.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sinha drew from her own traumatic experience of being sexually assaulted while studying theatre in Montreal to create Crash. She now resides in Toronto, Ontario. Her second stage play, Happy Place, debuted at Soulpepper Theatre Company in 2015 and was later adapted into a film in 2020 by Helen Shaver. Sinha wrote the screenplay for the film and portrayed the character Rosemary.
On screen, Sinha has appeared in several television roles, including Wanda in Street Legal, Rani in The Newsroom, Faith Colero in Traders, and Amira, a desk clerk, in ER. In 2024, she also appeared in the feature film Shook.
