Nelson Diaz-Marcano is an award winning Puerto Rican-born playwright based in NYC. Production credits include: “Rabiosa” (The Dirty Blondes Pa' Puerto Rico); “Mami's House” (Step1 Theatre Project AUxPR); “Promised Lands” (Stable Cable Lab Co’s Livewire); and “Radical” (Winner of Best Play DUAF 2016).
Established by theatrical producer Barbara Whitman in 2021, this award recognizes a woman, trans, or non-binary director who has developed a clear and distinctive artistic voice and demonstrated unique vision in their theatrical work.
