The Plano Symphony Orchestra has announced that Gregory Patterson has been named Executive Director. When a young married couple find themselves unable to conceive a child, the husband's sister reluctantly agrees to act as a surrogate. Complications ensue in Michelle Carter's quirky comedy "How to Pray", coming to Catskill's Bridge Street Theatre for eight performances only September 14 - 24. Winner of the Susan Glaspell Contest for "Best New Play" and a PEN USA Award for Drama, this hilarious and wildly theatrical play received its world premiere at the Centenary Stage Company in Hackettstown, NJ in a production which featured actor Steven Patterson as a cat, a dog, a ninety-year-old cancer patient, and a Karaoke-singing pre-op transsexual soup kitchen worker. Mr. Patterson will be re-creating these roles in this new production, only the second the play has ever received.

Best-selling author and alumnus James Patterson '69 will award $100,000 in academic scholarships to Manhattan College. This is the second year in a row for the James Patterson Scholarships, and 8 juniors and 10 seniors from the Schools of Arts, Business, Education and Health, Engineering, and Science are recipients of the 2013-2014 scholarships.

Producers Aaron Grant, Jana Robbins & Jeremy Handelman have announced that SCOTT PATTERSON has been cast in the lead role of Joe White in WHITE'S LIES, a new comedy by Ben Andron & directed by Bob Cline, which is scheduled to open on April 12, 2010, at New World Stages. Grant, who produced the staged reading in September, 2009, is thrilled to have the former star of "Gilmore Girls" on board as Joe White. Mr. Patterson joins a cast that already includes Peter Scolari, Christy Carlson Romano & Jimmy Ray Bennett.
