Michelle Pauls BIO

Michelle Pauls, performer, director and educator is a member of AEA. She was co-founder of B. Someday Productions and the Walking Fish Theatre.  Michelle has worked in the performance and education field for over 20 years.  She was an original member and lead vocalist, Simone Singer-A, for the art rock band, Edgar Allen & The Poettes. Recent works as a performer include: Animal Farm, Fool for Love & Buried Child, The Captive, The Iliad, Mistaken Charity, Suburban Motel & The Good Puppet of Szechwan, among others. Her works as a director include: Sacraments, Cappuccino & Regret, Violet & Pacific, Voir Dire, among others. Recent film credits include: Deadly Gamble, Crooked & Narrow (Best Director, Brooklyn Film Festival, 2016) and Looking Down (Audience Choice Award in Seattle, 2016).

Her work in education includes: faculty member at Penn State Abington where her focus is on using improvisation to devise theatre, and she is proud to have been awarded the fellowship as one of the Greenfield Teaching Artist Fellows with Philadelphia Theatre Company. She is devising her own project using theatre arts to support hospice care. Michelle is a founding member of Bright Invention, the long form improv ensemble at White Pines Place.

PlayPenn to Present First Reading of New Series at The Drake, 1/25


PlayPenn, Philadelphia's nationally recognized professional new play development organization, presents the first event in a new play reading series to be held at The Drake. Located at 1512 Spruce Street, the newly renovated Drake houses two theatres and will be home to PlayPenn alongside resident partners Azuka Theatre, InterAct Theatre Company, Inis Nua Theatre Company, and Simpatico Theatre Project. The reading series Philly Plays @ The Drake, will involve fourteen local playwrights, fourteen local directors, and over 80 local actors in a communal celebration of the vibrant new play scene from January through June, 2016.

Fresh off of four Barrymore Award nominations, Philadelphia Artists' Collective returns with The Captive by Edouard Bourdet, from September 1 through 20, 2015, during the 2015 Philadelphia FringeArts Festival. This well-mannered tragedy will tackle issues of sex, domesticity and class manners. Deeply controversial in its time, productions of this 1926 play were censored, and its producers and actors jailed. The Captive will be produced inside Society Hill's Physick House at 321 S. 4th Street. The historic townhouse in fact will be the perfect co-conspirator as the secrets and heated private moments unfold. PAC co-founding Artistic Director Dan Hodge directs the talented cast led by well-known Rachel Brodeur and newcomer Chase Byrd.

South Camden Theatre Company to Present EXPRESS TRACKS World Premiere


South Camden Theatre Company, a nonprofit professional theatre company located in Camden, New Jersey continues its ninth season titled "Everything's Relative" with the world premiere of EXPRESS TRACKS written by Joseph M. Walking Fish's B. Someday Productions to Host Navajo Summer Arts Camp in New Mexico, Begin. Today


B. Someday Productions, located at Walking Fish Theatre in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, launch a new initiative serving Navajo youth in New Mexico today. The Navajo Summer Arts Camp serves Navajo children and youth, ages 5-18, residing in the eastern area of the Navajo Nation and/or in area of the Thoreau Community Center, Thoreau, NM where the camp is sponsored. The camp also serves Navajo elders and parents of the children and youth.

B. Someday Productions and Walking Fish Theatre team up with the Historical Society of Frankford and Hidden City Philadelphia for a special event! It's a Wine Tasting and Soundscape-Hearing Evening at one of Philadelphia's hidden historical treasures, Historical Society of Frankford, 1507 Orthodox Street tonight, June 25, 2013 starting at 6:30pm and going until 9:00pm. The cost is a suggested donation of $20 for both wine and the exhibit. Enjoy a glass of wine in the bucolic gardens adjoining the Historical Society of Frankford, then venture downstairs to experience the soundscape installation amongst the historical artifacts as part of the Hidden City Philadelphia Data Garden.

Walking Fish Theatre's B. Someday Hosts Cabaret Fundraiser Tonight


B. Someday at Walking Fish Theatre is holding a season-ending Cabaret Fundraiser to help raise money to pay off the last of the theatre's productions for 2012-13. Tonight, June 22, 2013 starting at 8:00pm, the theatre will hold a variety of acts. Tickets are $25.00 and include alcoholic beverages as well as the entertainment. There will be raffle items ranging from dinner at Fishtown restaurants, to massage sessions to theatre tickets.
